$50 Cash back at Best Buy

Sears is selling the Droid for $149, so I went to Best Buy and asks for a $50 credit, and no question asked, they handed me $50ish cash. =)
You guys should do the same if you got yours at BestBuy.

Confirmed, Just called best buy and told them i'm coming in for my MONEY!! I got 2 there last week by upgrading 2 lines, but they said I'm all set. VERY COOL, thx for the post.

bring your Droid receipt, so they can scan it into their system for a price adjustment. and of course print out that sears wireless price to show them.

anyone know if vzw will do this? im kinda bummed that being an early adopter and getting the phone one day earlier cost me $50 plus i have to wait for a damn rebate gift card.

yes, they will price match it up front, at time of purchase.

Unfortunately I can't make it out to best buy tonight, but my friend and I will try tomorrow morning. I'll post our experience. Mine was a new every two update, but my friend was a new account.

yeah, but my Best Buy stores must be jerks. They actually pick up the phone and call the store that I'm asking them to match to see if they have it in-stock. If not they do not match... that was on stereos, tvs, and computers I've done (all where in-stock though haha). So, I'm surprised they are doing it for Sears since they do not sell wireless in the store at all. It's very cool and I think they should match internet stores to a degree also.

I bought my droid last saurday at best buy. I've been a VZW customer for over 6 years with two lines.

I added a $9.99 line to get my droid for $199.

I just walked in, handed the BB CS girl the searswireless.com add and my receipt from last week. 90 seconds later $53 and change back on my Visa.

Can you be more specific? I plan on trying this tomorrow, and if it works out, I will definitely buy a $99 product there that sells for $79 + shipping online

Certainly. The Best Buy page is HERE. The relevant part is:

Best Buy does not match the prices of Internet-only retailers or the online only offers of our local retail competitors.

Of course enforcement of the policy is totally up to the store, so its probably worth a shot. I know my local store is really a stickler. They do a map search for the closest retailer of the chain they are price matching, call them and check their inventory. Only then will they honor the price match. It sounds like some of the people up top are in a more laid back area.
