How do you charge your phone?

So, when you guys put your phone on the charger do you charge it for a long time like overnight or just for a few hours in the morning or during the day until the green light comes on?

Also, when you are charging it do you just put it to sleep and have it charge that way, or do you do a full power off and charge it that way?

I leave my phone on charger all night, it is green when i wake up. Once awake, i turn my phone off and start getting ready and all, and by the time i am done the battery is fully fully charged.

I do this because of how the battery does not charge fully while the phone is on. After the 100% while on, i would turn the phone off plugged in and the light would turn orange, it will then charge between 45-60 minutes until it turn green.

I turn on my phone after that and my battery goes an easy 16-20 hours moderate-heavy use. That 7% is actually A LOT, it feels more so like 20% or something. When i charge to full normally, phone drops to 93% after 2 minutes. Literally, no exaggeration. And when i do the turn off and charge procedure, it takes 1.5 - 2 hours to drop the same amount.

My process is not much different but I have the same effect.
I charge over night. My phone is also my alarm clock. Once up I unplug the phone and get ready for work. 30 minutes later I'm out the door and the phone (untouched) is around 90%. I plug it into my car charger while on the way to work for 30 minutes. By the time I get to work its fully charged and takes 1.5-2 hours to drop below 90%. After 16 hours on battery I'm floating at 30%. The key to the longer life is the second charge after it drops back down to 90%.

Same procedure I use

I now do the "charge all night with it on" then "turn it off and charge until its green".

I never thought it was a big deal, but I get MUCH MUCH better battery life this way. I haven't done an objective test yet, but I did the "turn off and top-off" trick at work today, so I'll let it run until it dies.

I've been off the charger for 2:45, awake 30 min, spent a few min on the phone, updated 2 apps, used tapatalk and the browser for a few min, the battery level bar hasn't moved yet in the "about phone">"battery" screen.

Exactly what I do. Notice a huge difference. If I take it off the charger at 730am with minimal use it can still be at 100% at 10ish.

I bought the Seido slim charger and 1750 slim extended battery. I noticed that when I charge either the original or the extended battery overnight (at least 5 hours) in the wall battery charger I have really good battery life, sometimes up to 16 hours depending on usage.

When not using the wall charger, I charge direct to the phone overnight, unplug it for 20 minutes, plug it back in and top it off, then turn the phone off and wait until the light turns green. Usually, takes only a minute or two for this last step.

I usually do the battery alternation mentioned earlier. Use my phone at work all day and when it gets to 30 % or less in the evening I just put in the fresh battery and throw the other battery in the wall charger overnight. When I'm done with the phone for the evening, I plug the phone in as well overnight. When I wake up, I swap batteries and top off the one I charged overnight in the phone with the wall charger.
