So ive tried every which way , combo , sitting indian style , anything and everything , and i still cant root my incredible. im gonna sell it and move on, wait till the droid 2 comes out(ill have a dumb phone in the mean time ) . if anyone is interested in purchasing let me know. I also just got the extended battery for it so youll have to batteries and the black/red gradient case from verizon.

I assume u know the method by heart now. But try one last thing. BEFORE you choose RECOVERY try the SIMLOCK option it will initiate and say SD FAT32 init ok. Reboot!! As the phone reboots hold vol down and power go to recovery and see if this works. I failed every method but tried this and it worked.

Im just pissed that i still havent been able to get it, ill definitely try again with your guys' suggestions , hopefully ill get it soon.

It's frustrating sometimes for sure. Stick with it though if you can. I know you said you tried everything so you may already know all of these but a few things that seemed to make the final difference for some people have been:

-Enter airplane mode beforehand
-Reformat sd card to FAT32 using computer, not phone
-Use and install (per included instructs) the driver that comes with the Clockwork Mod tool (aka Reflash/Recovery Tool)
-Wait for the Windows "device recognized" sound to push card back in if you're using that method to start with
-I got mine by having my card out and directly after hitting the power button, I disconnected my usb cable, plugged back in immediately and then pushed in the card all in about 2 seconds time. Nothing else worked for me but that got it.

It's definitely an experiment in patience. :D
