Help Incredible or any Droid and MS Server

There has to be a fix for this. If I delete an email on my Incredible, it deletes from my Outlook (MS Server 2007) Server co sez it is an android flaw as this does not happen with the Blackberry. Anyone else having this issue?
As far as I know, Outlook Mobile Access (OMA) is different from Blackberry sync architecture, so all bets would be off as far as comparing the two and looking for "flaws." Blackberry runs off its own proprietary server, while, from what I've observed, OMA is VERY similar to Outlook Web Access (OWA). Two behaviors I've observed to be consistent between OWA and OMA:

  1. Deleting an email on your web or mobile client will delete it on the server. This is the behavior you're talking about.
  2. Accepting a meeting invitation deletes it from your inbox, even if you don't have this option set in the Outlook client. Sorta annoys me, but it's alright.

Bottom line is that I don't think "flaw" is the right term to be using for the synchronized deletion. In fact, I actually rely on this behavior - f I delete something, it's because I don't want it anymore. Guys like me live life on the edge...of their email quota, that is. If I can't trigger server deletes from my mobile device, I'd be unable to send email by the end of the day.

so perhaps I am not handling this correctly..as it probably true. I must save mountains of mail for work. It is my own server though. If I delete a message from my Droid, then I will not have it for archiving purposes and future reference. I get about 250 emails a day. I need to save probably 50 of them but that adds up. I came over from a BB because the browser on the BB is horrible. Trying to get used to a virtual keyboard is better than having to deal with this email issue. Is there a work around..third party software that would overwrite this. I cannot be the only person concerned about this.

Based on some quick Google searches on the Touchdown app, it may do what you need.

I just select move to folder for anything in my inbox I want to file away, and move it there. Gone from inbox, no problem! Why not do that?

Also, I'm pretty sure deleting items puts them in your deleted items folder, not purging them forever. So you shuld be able to check there if you need to for something. I can't verify this at the moment, no phones at work!

I'm with Knitter on this one. I use my EVO 4G to read and respond to some e-mails but file none there. Hence, if I read an e-mail on the EVO, I'd like the ability to delete it from the phone (to keep my inbox clean) but still have it reside on my pc for later follow up. Have any solutions/apps come out which help this? I looked at Touchdown and the user comments are horrific.
