***** ROM Reviews *****

Review by yournamepenor
This is pretty much what you would expect from jrummy. But if you haven't run one of his Roms I will go ahead and tell you some of the features and some info on things that i saw that were good or bad. One of the nicer things i saw in here was the kangerade scripts app. Very Handy. It lets you delete system apks, install fonts, LWPS, and extra apps that are download-able through ROM manager premium. Another nice thing about that I noticed was all the themes you have to choose from. I believe there are 7 official themes, but there are more that people themselves have made and posted in random places. A couple of these include The DroidX theme, Nextheme, a cyan theme, a green theme, blue, pink, red, and a theme called NexTang that is pretty nice. There is also a black bar mod for the droid x theme that is download-able. This ROM is pretty smooth but there are little hang ups here and there every-so often. I experienced freezes here and there, keyboard not responding, things of that nature, nothing big though. The stock kernals work well with it, but I found that the kernals that worked the best were chevyno1's and jdflg's LV1ghz. Higher and lower speeds work well with it too. I had some pretty good scores with this ROM. The first go around i got 1480, but the second test i got 1525. Not the highest I've seen or gotten but their still good scores. I rate it a 4 because of the minor hick-ups that i saw while using it, but overall i would it's a pretty well built rom.

Clockwork and sprecovery supported. Initial boot took approximately 3 minutes. All apps visible in market synced correctly. Sync completed and apps restored in 15 minutes.

Responsiveness and speed with stock kernel is is very good.

I did experience a few issues when attempting to use different kernels. So far this is the only ROM that 'seems' to have limited the selection of kernels I'm able to run. I typically have no trouble using running any developers kernel (expect ULV, LV is the lowest my phone is stable). Only chevy's kernels would run stable and I settled on the 1ghz LV.

This ROM is 'out of the box' very fast and responsive, so naturally at 1ghz this ROM does not disappoint. It's speed for me has only been surpassed by Succulent Desire 7.

Battery life has easily been the best I've experienced. Easily 20+ hours.

Hardly any additional features besides a few changes to the MMS settings. This ROM might lack a lot of features, but scripts galore!

Ads are disabled by default. Some scripts include apps2sd, changing fonts, changing livewallpapers (when running these scipts, it changes the "neural network" lwp. It will still say neural network, but select it and you'll see that it's changed), and of course scripts to easily remove stock apps.

It doesn't stop there, jrummy has included a custom app to run scripts from. The UI is very user friendly and it is a great feature.

To get the full experience from kangerade you will need to install his "goodies" folder. You download this and install just as you would a ROM. This can be done at anytime, it will not change anything.

I have not run into any bugs, however launcherpro did forceclose a few times at first. But it has been running with no issues now for about 24 hours.

There are a nice selection of themes included in the OP of this thread. At first glance the themes appear to be a little over the top colorful, but after trying each one out (Yes, even the pink one. I was just checking it out for my wife, I swear) they are very well done.

I gave it a 4/5 (4.5 if I could). Jrummy's scripts can't be beat, and it's a very fast ROM with great battery life. The lack of features and quirks with launcherpro and kernels that I experienced keep this from being 5/5

Just installed and it's working flawlessly....as usual for a JRummy ROM. We'll see how speed/performance works once all my apps reinstall.

BTW, I installed the Froyo Goodies but I still can't figure out how to run the app to sd script. I don't do ADB, but I do use terminal on the device.

How is it compared to the 7-2 release? I had issues with that one.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm currently running Kangerade 4.0.7, do I need to wipe before I flash this one?

I didn't...booted up to a FC-ing Setup Wizard. I can't do anything once the phone is booted up, just keeps running and FC-ing. Tried to go back to 4.0.7...still FC-ing. Wiped cache and reflashed...still FC-ing.

Premature release?

I'm not having the best of luck with these source based ROMs. I think I'm going to go back to BB.
