USB Port Cover... droid doesn't. WTF!

find a crap Micro usb cable, cut the connector off the end and plug it into your phone while at work...Best I could come up with :)

Search google for micro usb cover, I didn't see anything specific for droid, but micro usb is a universal size.

Will check that out... the covers, not cutting a micro usb cord... all though, that would be a good joke haha

I guess I was more pissed that a $200 phone didn't come with one... but neither did my touch diamond come to think about it.

I've never seen any phone that has a usb port have a cover for it. You work in a machine shop, can't one of the guys fab one up out of some scrap deralin?

My Motorola Q9m is the same way. 2.5mm headphone jack? Covered. SD expansion slot? Covered. Mini USB port. Not covered.

I guess Motorola thinks you'd use it so much it would be annoying. I wish it would be covered. Look at all the RAZRs and the Wxxx series flip phones their USB ports are covered.

If it had a teeny tiny micro USB cover, people would lose it in a day.

They have the ability to put a teeny tiny piece of rubber that connects the cover to the phone so that it doesn't actually come off.

Nice find.

I work in a huge tool shop too and I am not near as worried about the usb port as I am the 3.5mm jack being on top the device and open :(

Here is the case on Amazon for about $22 (and it covers the 3.5mm jack):

personally, I think plugs for the ear phone jack and USB are great ideas. Apple use to have them, someone else made them, for their USB and power and firewire ports. Same concept.

I have often considered this myself and 1 method might be some silicon. squeeze it in, let dry, takes shape of hole, pull out, should leave little to no residue if you use a low strength silicon. it being rubber means it stays put, has grip, but kinda flexible and if lost, make another.
