Touchstones :)

I will have mine tomorrow, I can snap a picture for you. Not sure how long they will have stock at the price...so I don't know if that will help.

I ordered two (one for my mom and another for my mom's Sprint Pixi... I hope the back covers are the same...).

Also posted on xda, so I'm sure they will be out of them soon.

Thanks for the cheap accessories and free over night shipping Verizon!

got my order today. wasn't this thing supposed to come with a usb cable included? there is only the dock in the box and the cover in a separate box.

it's one of those very small mini usb plugs and I don't have a cable for it laying around

I missed mine...damn sig needed shipping.

I am thinking of driving to get it tomorrow...Otherwise I won't see it for a week. The bright side, I will have 4G all next week :)

You have to be careful which micro usb cable you use. The hole in the touchstone is pretty small. The micro usb cable I got from Monoprice needed to be shaved down with a razor to fit. The stock Evo cable might work, but I haven't checked yet.

This mod has somewhat crossed my mind before and will work great for me. I came from the Pre and have at least 3 touchstones, wife had a Pixi with touchstone, and now I can reuse them. Now I can go back to my wireless setup in the car. Bluetooth for calls and audio and inductive charging.

Other than disassembling a micro usb cable, anyone know a good location to find micro-usb plugs (the unsoldered component)?

I have an idea to try to incorporate the touchstone coil into the back of a case (glue onto the back of a plastic or rubber case. Instead of disassembling the HTC Evo and soldering into it, try to make a flush mounted 90 degree angled plug to go into the USB port on the phone. Should still charge it and don't have to worry about opening up the phone.

That could work well. I think it might take longer making it look nice than making it work.

I'd like pics if you do :)

Basiclly how the power mat would work if you used the generic inductor. Plug it to the phone and the other piece to the mat.

Some pictures taken of the mod, but forgot to take pictures during the process. The tape was temporary.
