Root echoes on the other end

Hey, I rooted and flashed EE 2.0.1. like it alot but need the soft keys to be lighting up . anyway, when i make or get phone calls the party on the other end complains of echoes?.is that maybe affiliated to this rom or is there a known fix?

Don't know about the soft keys, but I occasionally hear the echo thing too (I can even hear my echo)...not every time... I'm guessing its a network (tower?) hop-related thing.

I'm rooted too, but I had it happen when not rooted.

The echo came along with 2.1.. wasnt there in 1.5.
soft keys don't work for fresh 3.0 rom, and evil eris roms
every other rom (if my memory servers me right) the soft keys light up.

Does that happen everywhere you go with the phone? Local calls and long distance? Calls from landlines and other cells? Anyone else having the problem in your area?

My wife's Eris has the echo, she is on the 2.1 v3 leak and it is not rooted. I can't stand hearing my voice echo back to me when I'm talking to her from both landlines and my Moto Droid.

Does it happen everywhere you take it? if it does it's definitely device related. If it only happens around 1 place then you should call in and have it looked into.

yes anywhere i was others would complain of echo. i flashed EE 3.0 no echo gone . have soft keys lit up , but need to battery pull everytime i put a charger on it........ need something way more stable damnit
