Will I Regret This?

I haven't heard too much about the Droid 2, and I'm wondering if that's because they don't want slow sales for the X. I really plan on getting the X, but I'm worried I'll regret it when the 2 comes out. I'm not worried about the physical keyboard, I'm just wondering if the Droid 2 will have some amazing feature I'll feel like I missed out on by getting the X. Somebody help me out?

Well for one if you want a keyboard 2 is the way to go, otherwise your passing up a large screen for a smaller screen. You know for me a larger screen is key for doing touch. I think it optimizes what I can do. That's just my opinion. But you'll always be waiting if you feel like your missing out you know. You could get the X and then if the 2 comes out and you feel like hey that's better sell the X on eBay on buy 2. But this is just my opinion.

There is an outside chance that the Droid X boot loader will be signed and the Droid 2's boot loader will be unsigned (same as the original Droid). If that's the case, you will be able to flash custom ROMs to the Droid 2 but not to the Droid X.

For more details on what exactly I'm talking about you can go here: http://androidforums.com/motorola-d...ootloader-flashing-roms-abandon-all-hope.html

I'm not suggesting that this necessarily will happen, but given that the original Droid was unsigned, the Droid 2 could follow suit.

Actually, any physical keyboard = a sorry keyboard. Physical keyboards are a thing of the past, just like vhs and floppy disks. Get the droid x and don't worry about it, you will love that phone and not regret it.

yeah well some people like physical keyboards i for one dont but atleast get your facts straight maybe the person who made this thread likes having a physical just wanted to clear it up its not the same as the original droid keyboard. You sound like an iphone fanboy get this phone just because i like it and thats all that matters. Let the man/woman choose the phone that suits them. you can get the x as i will be getting it but dont try and force something on someone

Physical keyboards are not the past. They are just a different market. RIM is still highly successful in selling their phones with physical keyboards. I like physical keyboards just as much as I like on screen. They aren't the past and they aren't dying out. No matter what you or any other person wants to say they won't die out anytime soon as long as there is a market for them. Granted it may be a smaller market, but there is still a market. You can't just make broad sweeping statements like that and act like they're fact cause they aren't. They're your opinion.

I agree RIM still makes lots of money off of their phones and almost all of them use physical keyboards. Its a preference and there are still people who want a physical keyboard just because he doesn't doesn't mean they should stop making them. Its just like all the apple people who think there phone is everything and there should be nothing else out there

It just get me angry when people made broad sweeping statements about physical keyboards being apart of dumb phones or of stupid things you know? It's a preference that every customer has to decide upon themselves and someone making fun of what a person might want is childish to me. You may love not having a keyboard and that's great for you! But for the guy down the street who wants the phone with the keyboard from like RIM that's what he wants and he shouldn't feel put down or mocked in any manner because he choose a physical keyboard for his smart phone. If the OP wants a physical keyboard that's great! If not that's also great! However it shouldn't lead to someone equating them to VHS players because they aren't sliding out of fashion or no longer being manufactured or losing footing in the smart phone world.

personally i like physical keyboards but now that i have a touch screen id never go back but on the blackberry's and some phones they work nice. Yeah people always try and degrade people because they like something that another person doesnt like. Thats why we have choices some people will never get it though. sad

Whoah people. Spread the love. I'm not gonna reveal my preference, because I'd rather live without the "told-you-so's."

I'd say do this first. What is your current device? Make a list of the things you like and a list of things you can't live without. Then make a list of things that you would consider perks or like things that you would love to have if it was available. Then make a list of things that are a no go no matter what. And then compare phones and see what fits you.
