Woodyman has posted his newest release of his Succulent Desire ROMs over on Droid Forums. This has netted me yet a new high Quadrant score. W/ Jake's 1GHz kernel:

Unlike past ROMs, this can now flash via Clockwork or SPRecovery. So have at it and happy flashing.

Just looking 4 an opinion.....This ROM or Kangerade 5.0.9?

I'm definitely liking SD, I'm consistently clocking 1400s with Chevy's ULV 1Ghz. I barely could get 1300s with Kangerade....

I tried Kangerade a few times, I like it. Def like the theming and all. But I've really been big on SD since I came across it b/c it's been the fastest and most responsive ROM I've had on it (even w/ 2.1). As you can see from my Quadrant score, this ROM combined w/ Jake's kernel has my phone incredibly smooth, which is the most important thing to me. It's even faster than BBeast (on my Droid, at least). However, I do miss the hotkeys and BBeast app, but SD v.7.0 is supposed to have a few extras. What, I don't know.

Yeah I like the hotkeys from BBeast and the scripts from Kangerade. If on the upcoming SD there's more of these kinds of features, I will definitely make this ROM my primary. BBeast is nice, but not as fast....a bit laggy especially with the new QuickDesk Beta app, Kangerade is real smoothe and handles everything well, but the Quadrant is lower than BBeast, which performance wise I want to get the best if I can. Now with this SD, my first time trying this ROM, I really really like it. Especially the themed version.

Very disappointed in this after all the hype of performance. A full 1000+ lower score on Quadrant using Chevy's ULV 1.1ghz compared to the same kernel on Kangerade 5.0.9 (which coincidentally has been the best performance I've seen so far - by a smaller margin though).

Even went back and did a full cache wipe and factory reset hoping for more - didn't help.

I'm incredibly amazed that ANY ROM would score 1000 points lower than another. I've occasionally scored low w/ ROMs when I've run Quadrant before everything was done syncing and such, but I always run it a few times. You never get your best benchmark on the first try. But, eh, whatev. These Droids can be weird some times.

Hmm...I'm sure someone smarter than me will know what to do. My suggestion would be to go into ROM Manager (if you have it) and fix permissions. It'll prompt you to reboot, and after that, see if you're still having the issue. And for gits and shiggles, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to update Busybox through Titanium Backup. Usually simple fixes like that help me.

Tried both of those, still having Market issues

So while this was, in my opinion, the best looking ROM I've tried, there were a few issues that forced me to go back to BBv0.4..

- Wifi didn't work.. huge deal breaker for me!
- Apps didn't reappear in the Market (this happened flawlessly on BBv0.4 and NexBeast FRF57 V0.1.1)
- Network location simply would not work, so certain apps became useless

Again, I absolutely loved the LOOK of this ROM, and if anyone knows where I could get my hands on the theme so I could put it on top of the BBv0.4 I'm running now, I'd be golden!

Sorry it wasn't working for you, our Droids can be fickle. Someone asked Woodyman (the developer) about the Market and these were his suggestions:

"try a market fix update.zip

and/or

try going into

settings>applications> manage applications>at the top click all>find market

clear data/cache if possible and reboot into recovery and clear cache again.."

The person who asked did have WiFi working, however. If you use P3's kernels, WiFi should work.

Thanks for the link Yankee. The thing is that I really liked the look of this ROM.. the only time I'd been impressed with the look of a ROM was when Fab created Nextheme! Now, while that was awesome, SD's themed ROM rocks!

So I clearly have a vested interest in wanting this ROM to work, haha.. and as soon as Woody figures out the network location issue, I'm so flashing this!

UPDATE
I just re-flashed this... now, before I re-flashed, I cleared the data and cache for the Market app and then wiped cache in recovery. I did NOT wipe, but flashed OVER BB V0.4 that was on my phone. Everything was working right out of the gate.. no issues with network location or updates, all my apps were resintalled via the Market and loaded the P3 1.2Ghz LV kernel.. will report back on wifi settings, but so far, so good!

What about the network location issue? Did he have any suggestions on that?

I was running Chevy's 1.2Ghz ULV kernel @ 1.1Ghz.. had nandroided and did a full wipe before installing too..

Chevy apparently had the same issue w/ SS v4.3 and created a patch that fixes the issue. A user on Droid Forums ran it and it worked for him on SD v.6.5.

Also, Woodyman acknowledged that 6.5 was a lil weird for some users. Here's the link from Droid Forums:
