soo as the title states my sprint store has finally recieved the new batch of evos this week. I exchanged mine for one today (had some bad screen light leakage all over the phone and it was slowly growing). immediate thoughts:

the back is noticeably grayer than my old one.

the camera has metal shavings (correct term?) and isnt as "polished" and smoothed as the old one. But it really isnt bad..actually feels rugged and more secure ^^.

screen colors seem..more realistic?..i believe it is an epson now.

sensitivity seems just a tad bit better...tested it on my old Evo this morning and it was definately slower.

the bottom and sides seem a bit more sealed than before..although not as much as I'd hope for but i guess i have to give it a week to see if the screen starts separating like last time.

and it is hardware version 3. my old one was 2

so...has anyone else gotten a replacement Evo? and if so, notice anything different?..feedback would be great. oh and I'll get back on the battery and if it's different at all (charging right now).

Yes indeed, the HW version 3 handsets are noticeably improved. Thats why they are the third revision! Maybe we will even get to see a fourth revision.

yeah, this is what we need. not your HW version, as that's indicative of basically nothing.

i still don't think, if i ever decide to exchange, that i'll be exchanging until like August or something.

It wont matter after the first 30 days you will just get someone elses old returned phone thats been refurbished by HTC. In this case the replacement you get could be older than the one you now have.

Meanwhile..... back at The Hall Of Justice, Aqua Man and Batman share a dolphin free tuna sandwich.

Seriously, HTC has like what, 400 different models of phones on the market now..... It's a "crank them out" operation... Not a "give them perfection" operation. Besides, these things are being made in China..... Need I say more?

Wife got a replacement yesterday. Went from Rev 2 to Rev 3.

NOTHING different.

This is getting old fast.

My GF has a Rev2 and I have a Rev 3, I have looked for problems and compared the phones side by side on several occations. Looking as hard as i can for problems (which is rediculous, to begin with), but I cant find a problem with build quality at all. both are the same and both are great. No differences to be found.

Then go buy yourself a blackberry or spend $600 on a nokia. Then you can run around and brag to all your friends with android or ios phones, that your phone wasn't made in china. See how many people care.

Technically, these are made in Taiwan, one of our allies. ;)
