Accessories Does anybody make a charging/headphones microUSB adapter?

HTC made this for miniUSB devices, but I have been unable to find anything in micro. I want to be able to charge my Incredible and use the line-out to my stereo while I'm in the car.

That would simply be the A/V cable that HTCpedia is now carrying. Have to ground out the video connection, but you can use the L/R RCA's to connect to your stereo.

There's this one - HTC 3-in-1 USB Charging, Headset, 3.5mm Adapter, it appears to be MicroUSB, the Incredible is not listed as compatible, but has anyone confirmed it definitely doesn't work? The Eris is listed as compatible, which is MicroUSB and has a 3.5mm out, right? I would have thought (although no expert) that the charging pins would be standard, so it wouldn't do any harm to try? Perhaps the audio pins would be standard too? Just a thought...

I'm confused. . . Line out and usb are two different connections on your phone. Unless you are talking about using your phones storage to play music through the USB connection on your car stereo. And if that's the case your car stereo will charge your phone at the same time it is playing your music all through the single cable attached to your stereo.

And....NO....any cable that is compatible with the Eris is definitely not compatible with the Incredible. But you can buy a Micro to Mini adapter for cheap that will allow you to plug in any of the readily available MiniUSB cables to your phone. I have a ton of MiniUSB cables that have come with all kinds of gadgets around the house but not many MicroUSB so my adapter helped me to put these extra cables to good use.

Good catch. I had been looking at that, but thought it was a component output, therefore all three RCAs were for video. That's almost exactly what I'm looking for, and if I can find an extension so it can be buried behind the dash, it'll be perfect.

I don't know why they say micro, it's obviously not. That seems like something they'd need to change.

The Incredible's USB port is a little more than just a plain USB port. You can do it all through one cable.

Thanks... I have all kinds of RCA cables, but I'd prefer to extend the USB side. Haven't seen anything that extends the full 12 pins, though.

You're gonna have to source the parts yourself and make your own cable which will be difficult since the connector is proprietary. Furthermore, it doesn't help that the usb pins are broken out on the connector itself for connecting your charger. That means you have nothing available on the market to carry all 12 pins through the cable (ie. you can't buy a second cable and cut the a/v end off to make a semi-custom cable). Best of luck to you. I'd be interested to hear if you find anything.

I have a feeling I'm going to come up completely empty on this one. After a bit of Googling, I see people have been looking for this cable since 2007, when it would have come in a mini USB format. Unless HTC makes extUSB universal across all their phones (maybe they have, I don't know), I doubt we'll ever see it. Closest I came to finding anything are some mini extUSB breakout cables (meaning it has the connector and a shell and you have to solder all the wires to a mini circuit board inside).

I'm genuinely surprised this isn't more readily available. I wish everybody would settle on one connector. Let's throw one to Apple and have everybody use the iPod connector. :D
