It's funny how Evo owners call everybody that has a negative thing to say about an evo a "Fanboy" ...IPhone users get on here with there "Evo can't compare" comments, and from there all hell breaks lose. Only thing thats missing from these threads is gunplay lls. I just sit back and laugh

Because a lot of people seem to feel the need to justify to their ego's that what they picked is better than everything else whether it is or not. For some people, an Evo or Android in general is better, and for others, an iPhone. For some, a flip phone does the trick.

It annoys the hell out of me and honestly keeps me away from a lot of forums. I don't need to spend my spare time watching a pissing contest.

Some of my best friends own iPhones. I couldn't care less what phone someone likes. But if my friends came here to spread discord, THEN I would have issues with them.

I have to agree that there are some that post here with the sole intent of starting flame wars, and they have no interest in the Evo, other than to continually trash it. I think that most intelligent people know that every phone has it's issues, and no phone is perfect, but most intelligent people don't post on the forum of some other phone than the one they own, or one that they are genuinely interested in owning. That is when the problems start.

From what I see, it's not just bickering between iPhone and Evo lovers here. There's quite a lot of picking on people period. I'm sure someone will flame me or pick on me just for saying this.It's all really juvenile. Oh well, amongst all the bs there's still some good info to be found.

At the end of the day, you have to remember that this is an EVO-specific forum. You have a concentration of people who own and like the EVO, right here. Try going to a Ford forum and talking about how great your Charger is and how Fords suck, and you'll get pretty much the same response.

Is that too hard to understand?

The coolest thing about the whole "EVO vs iPhone" is the fact that both phones are obviously very, very close competition with each other or there wouldn't be all the fighting. If iPhone users really felt that the Android wasn't comparable to iOS we wouldn't have these "eBeef" discussions. When it comes down to ability and power you wouldn't compare a wild lion to a house cat would you,...of course not...NO COMPARISON. iPhone and EVO very comparable,..two great phones, extremely close in features and the truth is we (consumers) need both devices going toe to toe so that we get the best products and feature sets in the end. Fight On Apple and Google,..fight On!!

Because iPhone users think that everyone wants to be like them. It's some revenge of the zombies breakfast nerd club. It's really high school like. It's like they don't have perspective, at the end of the day, it's a phone. That's it, you aren't going to gain status from a phone. If you need your phone as a status symbol, you're a nobody anyway.

Plus a lot of iPhone uers aren't knowledgeable of other phones. Because you're popular, doesn't mean you were first. Nokia, Windows Mobile and LG were doing a lot of the things that they try to lay claim to. Your phone looks like a iPhone, no, your phone looks like a LG Prada. You didn't have the first app store. You didn't have the first touch screen phone. I think if they were more knowledgeable they'd complain more about the spoon fed updates Steve Jobs has been feeding them since the first iPhone. He gives them just enough for them to think they're getting something new. Just like the iPhone 4, great phone, but why does it have that antenna and glass all around when 90% of the people are going to put a case on it?

The first argument you'll hear, well my phone sold blah blah blah. You'll constantly see that point brought up. As if so and so many people can't be wrong. All of a sudden Avatar is the best movie of all time. If you see somebody else out dressed the same as you, are you going to be happy? See I knew this shirt looked great, that's why five other people are wearing it. I think I'm going to go out and buy a Toyota Camry tomorrow, because it's the most popular car. I thought it was about individuality.

Sometimes I swear the iPhone emits some sort of waves that takes over peoples brains and turns the logical and individualism part of the brain in to fanboyism.

I know that even if I see another Evo, it's 99% likely it won't be the same. Be it the case, icons, wallpaper, something. It's not even about I've had two Android phones, I noticed it when I had a Blackberry.

I think its stupid, every phone has its ups. The iPhone has one of the best App store, but the evo has the best open source apps. You can do so much with the evo without needing to root it, unlike the iPhone. I'm an ex-iPhone owner and I have to say, although I still miss my iPhone, I would not trade my evo for it.

I wonder if iPhone fora have a large number of people claiming that their non-iPhone choice is superior and can do thus-and-so better? I don't know as I don't see the point trolling iPhone fora since I don't own one and am not interested in owning one. But it seems in every other phone forum I do play in, I see a lot of posters spreading the word that the iPhone is so much better than whatever the topic of that forum is.

I have to wonder, myself, if iPhone users (well, these iPhone users, anyway) are really that lonely that they can only validate their lives telling others how their phones suck.

Maybe I'm the minority here, but I have never once even been tempted to visit an iPhone forum. Not sure why iPhone users would want to hang out in EVO forums.

Is there nothing for them to learn in there own forums?

They are both good, and that's why I use both. Now that I'm using the EVO as my phone, the iPhone is now my wifi-only "ipod touch". The EVO is great for web surfing, email, and keeping up to date via widgets. I use my iPhone for all the apps and games because as many apps as there are for Android Market, the majority of them are pretty crappy. Even the ones that are on both systems, it just runs a lot better on the iPhone, which I think is just due to non optimal coding and not because of any hardware issues (the EVO's GPU is only slightly slower than the iPhone 3GS's). Also, the Android Market hasn't really seen any high end games from console publishers. I think that'll change starting this year, but for now iPhone gaming is still tops.

I don't mind discussion just as long a users complaints are legitimate. I see fanboys from both camps and neither one is any good. Alas I just worry about myself anyway and buy what I want.

If a user asks me whats wrong with an EVO/iPhone I tell them the truth and just leave it up to them to decide if it bothers them.

I compare a lot of iphone users to zombies. I don't like zombies because all they want to do is eat my brain and turn me into one of them. Just like the iphone users that want me to believe that theirs is the best phone on the market. I don't want my brain eaten and I don't want to be a sheep and own something just because other people own it.

Same thing with religious fanatics. I'm fine with what ever religion you believe in just don't try to impart your beliefs on to me and tell me I'm going to hell or getting reincarnated into a dung beetle if I don't believe the same as you.

Let me make my own choices that's all I ask.
