Oh I forgot to mention, mine has an amoled so I don't think the SLCD screens are in production yet. On a full black screen, you'll still see a very faint border, but if there is even a tiny white square, you'll not be able to see the edge. Side by side with an LCD screen it's very noticable, especially at an angle.

Oh and I noticed that the screen does have a faint pinkish hue, but I think it's due to the fact that the brightness isn't all the way up on stock. If you turn the brightness up, the pinkish hue goes away.

I know the feeling, I spent so much time anticipating this phone. Now that I have it all I want to do is talk about how awsome it is, but I don't because I know others don't want to hear about it.

So what you do is you get about 20 friends/family seperatly and show each of them different cool things your phone can do :D

you guys want to hear something funny?

okay... so my bf thinks i'm crazy cause i've been obsessing over this phone for the last month and he thought it was so stupid for me to, "waste my money on a stupid phone and get locked into a 2 year contract."

I emailed VZW just in hopes to get an update on the situation and they've been very courteous and helpful along the way to me. I don't deal with calling CSR's because as we have seen, that gets you no where.

Thought this email might make some of us 6/15-6/19er's happy (me being a 6/18er myself).

"We experienced a slight delay due to a late shipment we received from the manufacturer, HTC. But this was a one time delay and only affected orders completed between 6/1-6/8. Since your order was completed on 6/18/10 you were not affected. Your estimated ship date is still holding strong at 7/16/10."

Take what you want from this, but from what we've seen here on the forums and what I got in this email, it seems like Verizon has finally caught up and are able to get out orders on time or earlier.

Here's to a good week ahead where hopefully I can get my INC before the weekend!

My phone is sitting at a fedex facility 15mins from my house was wondering if i called them if I could pick it up? Anyone tryed this?

FWIW,
I went and picked mine up from the local FedEx facility at 10am this morning.
As long as they are open (usually to 5 on Sat) then you'll have no problems.

So I got mine. Charged it a little bit, activated it with no issues and now trying to figure out some of the new features.

I had a different experience.

my phone is at the fedex facility near my house. I went to try and pick it up. They said I cant get it, it is still packed in the truck/container.

the counter lady then tells me to call fedex 1800 number and have my package set aside so I can pick it up at 8:30am on Monday.

I call fedex 1800 # and they said that Verizon requires at least 1 delivery attempt before I can pick up in person.

sigh. oh well. at least I tried. Monday it is.

So I may take my Inc back. This thing is too amazing. This phone can do almost anything and I think I would prefer a phone like the iPhone, or a palm pre or even one of those phones that looks like a pack of gum. I have been playing with the Incredible ever since I got home...at 5:30.

Okay seriously, this phone is pretty amazing. I love all of the options you have as far as what to download and how it looks. I have had to keep it on the charger though in order to keep it from dying. Hope everyone else loves their phones as much as me. And to everyone else who is still waiting, these phones are really fun and once you get it, its nonstop fun and enjoyment. If you have a girlfriend or boyfriend, husband or wife, then encourage them to get one as well because this phone loves to be an attention hog. BTW I lasted all day at work at 98% or about 7-9 hours, granted it was on airplane mode.

Honestly, I like the dinc screen just fine. It's a good size for an average person.

I agree. I am the "average size". Female, 5'8" and 145 lbs. (That's right ladies and gentlemen... a woman just admited her weight!) I have big hands for a girl but not man hands by any stretch of the imagination.

I found it difficult to hold. With my current Dare, the DINC I will be getting and even with my friends iPhones I can do everything one-handed. Hold the phone AND use it, all in one hand.

I wasn't able to so that with the X. I had to hold with one hand and play with the other. (that sounds so dirty! :D). My fiance held it and while the size was better for him than me, he didn't like the way it felt, either. The extended area for the camera platform made it seem like you weren't holding it steady in one hand. It's just too top heavy.

You gotta admit, that things a monster. I could see my dad loving it. But he's 6'3", 260 lbs of muscle and some stocky man handles. Not only could he hold it, he could crush it. Way overkill, you just don't need that much. The only people with a real use for a phone that big are people who have a hard time seeing on smaller screens. Everyone else just wants it for the "cool factor"

^ The X is HUGE! If I wanted a phone that big, i'd get a netbook for the same price..

Yea, that thing is a freakin moster compared to the DINC. X looks like he's going to crush him :(

For me, it's just too much. I aleady have a netbook and a Kindle DX. I don't need another huge device running around my bag, expecially not one I have to hold up to my face to make calls.

Maybe if you have very large hands AND a very large head, this would be the phone for you!

I think people who buy the X are already big headed. :p Ignorant too. That thing is just unattractive. Sure the screen is big so it could fit more on it, but thats just about it. theres nothin' special about it. Whats the difference on the inside really? Ok, it shoots 720P, is a wifi hotspot (if u pay). And guess what gets that soon? The incredible. Thats it. Just seems like a waste of cash, I mean the incredible is Verizons best selling phone, the X might beat it, but thats only because people switch their preorders. : / the X just seems like a...waste of space. Its too big for its own good.

Why is every one bashing the X? like its the I Phone 4g or something . I am getting the X one because its just the right size I am 6"3 and the X can fit in my hand perfectly * i am assuming* plus it will only cost my 99 dollars just like the Dinc. *Primary phone discount+ NE2+ online discount* :).

So every one relax were all on the same team here! I just hate out Verizon is taking a year to ship you guys Dinc. i canceled my order because of that. :( wish you guys the best of luck :D

The X has a better antenna, better call quality due to noise canceling microphones, has a much more powerful CPU, a much more powerful graphics processor, and better stock battery life. The X will probably get updates to new versions of Android faster than the Incredible. It's in nearly every way a superior device. The only question is if the size is acceptable for the end user or not.

Look at the performance difference between the Droid X and the Evo 4G. The Evo has the exact same internal specifications as the Incredible so that is how the Incredible performs. The difference is pretty impressive especially in 3D.

I've now had my Incredible for two days and I must say the phone is just awesome. With that said, I'd like to give you that are waiting a couple of points of advice.

*When you get it, charge it as instructed -- 8 hours off.
*Turn it on, program it, and don't install a bunch of software!
*Go to settings, about phone, and battery use and see what your up time and awake time are. Up should be much more than awake. If not, your phone isn't sleeping.
*After you have used your phone for a day or two, THEN install an app or two at a time. Monitor your up and awake. Many apps on the market (and some built in) are causing the phone not to sleep and making the battery last a VERY short time.

I didn't do this... right when I got the phone, I turned a bunch of widgets on and installed about 15-20 games and such. My battery lasted all of about 4-5 hours. After an hour or so I would have about 60% battery left...

I reset the phone back to factory last night before I went to bed at 11 ish. I pulled it off the charger at 100%. At 9:00AM, the battery is still showing 100%. Clearly I didn't use it but neither did some stray app cause it to drain...

I thought I'd provide this in hopes some of you might avoid battery life pitfalls......

This is a great bit of advise. Thanks for posting it up. This is actually the game plan that I was planning to use when I finally get mine.
