Droid on the way!

I ordered my droid this morning through verizon's website. Hoping it will be here Tuesday. This is going to be a big step up from the LG env touch I'm using now. I'm going to play with it and figure out how to use it and hopefully get it rooted next weekend. Can't wait!

Woohoo! I just got my Droid too. I was using an EVO which I loved, but I moved to a new place and got ZERO reception in it. Not just one or two bars, literally, no signal. I decided to switch to VZW which my wife has and gets great reception with. I thought about the Droid X hype and everything but love the idea of vanilla android and being able to root, overclock, and run custom roms. Pretty stoked. Welcome to Android.

The Droid is an awesome phone! I've had it since launch day and have had very little problems out of it. I really hope u love yours as I do mine!

I had an LG Dare which was my constant companion for 18 months. It was a flat-out GREAT phone, and it took something like the Droid to pry it out of my fingers. Now rooted and ROMmed and loving it, I see nothing on the horizon that will pry my Droid out of my fingers. You picked a great device. Welcome to the Droid world!

My LG is a pretty good phone, just has a small screen and the internet capabilities aren't what I want. Verizon sent me an email telling me my order was shipped this morning. It should be here before 3 on Tuesday.

Awesome! I got really lucky. I had to order mine over the phone because they were giving me a certain discount. Online, they give you free overnight but on the phone it's 2 day shipping. Luckily, it got here in one day anyway. I hope you'll have such luck.

I was in the same boat as you, but don't have the same feelings toward the Dare. The battery life was amazing, but it occasionally rebooted itself and felt rather cheap. Glad I have a Droid now though.
