Incredible cheaper next week?

First things first, hello new friends! I plan on becoming an Android user very soon! (currently a Storm user)

I'm going to get an upgrade in the next week or two and I think I have my heart set on the Incredible. I originally thought the Droid X would be a sure thing but after watching a lot of YouTube reviews it just seems to big IMO. The hardware specs don't differ enough for me to not want the Incredible still (what do you all think?)

My question is, does anyone know of a possible price drop for the Incredible once the X releases this week? If so, I'll wait it out a few extra days/weeks. Otherwise I'll be high-tailing it to the VZW store very soon!!!

I personally prefer the DINC but I guess it depends on who you ask I say, just go with your gut. You want the DINC, get it. Otherwise you might be kicking yourself in the butt later.

I haven't heard anything but I really doubt they will discount the DINC. It hasn't even been out 3 months yet and it's still selling like hotcakes. As long as the demand stays this high, the phone will remain the same price.

Upgrade as soon as you can because the wait list is LONG. It won't surprise me in the least if the X doesn't end up with a waitlist too since it's going to be very popular as well. Not a 1 month wait like the DINC, but it just might happen. Remember the news reports of those crazy lines at the Apple Stores when the iPhone was released? Verizon is expecting similar next Thursday for the X. The store in my area is even opening an hour early to accommodate the expected crowd.

+1 also if they want to sell lots of droid X they don't want to have a phone with comparable specs sitting next to it with a lower price.

It is currently listed on Wirefly for $149, but I would guess the price may start to drop especially after the Droid X release this week.

the price always drops quickly with third party vendors. they have special deals with the carriers. I was referring to vzw dropping the price, fyi.

It is currently listed on Wirefly for $149, but I would guess the price may start to drop especially after the Droid X release this week.

That's the contract price that you can already get from Verizon (if you are a new customer or eligible for an upgrade). And just like Verizon, if you are not eligible for an upgrade and/or don't want contract changes, Wirefly charges MSRP for the phone ($599.99). Same with Amazon. There really isn't a difference, price wise.

You are not going to see a price drop in this phone until HTC themselves release something better. They are not going to lower their price because a competitor put out a comparable phone for the same price.

Totally agree. Dropping the price could increase demand, which would increase wait time.

Oh well, I think I have a company discount (maybe like 15%?) so I'll probably go ahead and get one (or two - the fiancee might want one).

Although, I was just texting my friend and he said if you buy one today they don't ship until Aug 28th?! That seems crazy to me, is this true? I guess I can wait, but the girl has a broken phone and needs something kind of soon......

If you order from verizon the date is the same if you do store, online or phone. You can go to verizonwireless.com to check the date.

You may be right, I have to check on what the discount entails. Heck, the VIP discount that verizon offers gives me 30% off the accessories so unless I can stack them on top of each other there's not much point
