My only complaint

I'm now into my third week (iPhone user / 99.9% sure I'm sticking with the Evo) and so far my only beef is the amount of internal storage. I really don't understand why they couldn't have put in 4-8GB of internal storage.

I'll probably update my SD card to 16GB or wait it out until 32's get cheaper...

Regarding the storage I also do have two questions.
1. I still have 284MB of internal storage left. What happens if I run out? I see FroYo will allow you to install apps to the SD card but I'm really curious if all of you think the amount of internal storage will ever become an issue.

2. If I do upgrade my SD card I'm assuming that I can just copy then entire contents to my computer then copy everything back when the new card is installed?

Thanks all.

Take the SD card out of your phone, and then transfer the files to the new card using a card reader that connects to your computer. It will be much faster than interfacing through the phone.

1. As far as storage goes I really can't see myself installing much more than I already have and I have 186 mb left but yes with FroYo installing all apps on the SD card will be the way to go. The Hero had significantly less internal storage and I managed to get down to about 14 mb left and it still ran well.

2. Yes you can copy cards. It is faster if you have a built in reader in your PC but you can do it

Haven't really felt an effect regarding the amount of internal strorage on the device. I have a ton of apps installed and haven't even payed any mind to the amount of space left. I don't think it is something to worry about.

No on WM, memory was sparse ane you felt it there.

I have 115 apps, leaving me 52.98mb of available space. The phone remains very snappy, with the occasional killing of apps with System Panel to speed it back up (sometimes when I have a lot open I noticed the phone slows down).

I purchased a 16mb micro sdcard and took the 8mb sdcard that came with the phone and just copied/pasted the root of the card to the new one. I have an internal card reader on my pc as stated above which I had bought for 6 bucks off newegg.

Iowa, You just have the short end of the stick! You have to suffer living in northern illinois and watching either the Cubs/Sox (Go Cards!), and you have a Moment with limited internal Memory. That is a double whammy of epic proportions (mainly because of your close proximity to the Cubs).

Just kidding.... except about the go cards part ;)
