Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

Yep, they got some neat stuff there.

Accessory shopping is a huge time waster. I spend almost a whole week looking for the perfect pouch.

App Brain is a GREAT place to go. Pick out what you want now and you'll be all set when the phone gets here. I have 4 different lists made, one called "still considering" where I put neat but unnecessary stuff.

If you go to the Tips and Tricks section of the forum there is lots of useful information there that's really nice to know before you start messing with the phone and getting frustrated.

And my favorite so far was researching the Custom Boot Animations. There's some really slick ones out there.

I am pretty sure I am already an expert on this phone and I don't even have the damn thing yet. I feel so nerdy :D
Hey! Do you have any other cool sites for the Droid. I have checked out brainapp and the live wallpaper site. Thx:eek:)

Tons, way too many to list.

The major ones are Launcher Pro, Folder Organizer, Better Cut and then a bunch of icon packs. Also Dazzle Configurable Switcher.

I plan to use Handcent and Dolphin Browser. I am going to use Jorte for my calendar. Battery Left for my battery widget.

I found this adorable little clock that I love. diviClock - Android app on AppBrain

The rest is mostly fluff stuff. And utility apps.

I ordered 6/20 and I'm from Virginia too. Be interesting to see how close our ship dates are.

I'm planning to see how I like Sense and the stock widgets and programs before deciding to check out other ones.

I'm a 6/21, and "my guy" at the the local store says mine could be here by the end of the week. I think that's pushing it, but based on what I've seen here, there could be a chance.

Curious to see what shipping notifications go out tomorrow. I won't get one, because I'm not the primary on the account. Been calling *611, but haven't gotten anything but "Main Menu..." :(

^ I think it was Friday! So crazy, feels like just yesterday there were 6/11's going out (which they're probably were haha) but think there is any hope to hear some 6/22's + by Friday maybe?

I think it will happen. They seem to be moving a lot faster than they were a couple of weeks ago.

When I first got here phones were shipping several days after the expected ship date. Now it seems that most people are seeing shipments 2-4 days earlier than the estimated date.

As of yesterday I have already waited 3 weeks. Looking back it DOES seem like yesterday. While it sucks to have to wait and I am super excited for my phone (hopefully by Friday!) the weeks seem to go by really fast.

reading this made my crappy day a lot better.

Yep, my phone will be here tomorrow, which was the original ship date.

Word to the wise, though... if you ordered online, call them and make sure it's set to be sent Overnight. The website promises it on all orders, but lots of us have been stuck with 2 Day. It wouldn't be so bad except mine shipped on a Thursday... meaning my 2 Day had another two days tacked onto it because of the weekend. It's been one of the longest weekends of my life!

Hey guys.. This is probably a dumb question but here it goes: Do you definitely need a Gmail account to use the Incredible? I've seen mixed things on the forum so I thought I'd ask. From what i'm reading it's you need one to get apps from the marketplace? I've used yahoo forever, and I've played around with google and just don't like it as much. Plus the yahoo homepage is better :)

I looked in some threads and people were like "you're getting a google phone and you don't have a google account?!? what's the point?!?" I'm still in college, I don't own a business aka my emails are from ebay, facebook, and some other forums. I don't have any email contacts/don't use a calender, so syncing with gmail isn't a big deal to me. Can I activate the phone w.o Gmail and just use my yahoo?

thanks!

I'm pretty sure you need google, but worst case scenario you have to create one just for droid, thats it. Use it as a droid account.

You have to have a google account to use the phone, yes.

You don't need to use it as your primary email though. You can continue to use your yahoo mail for all of your stuff and there are even app's for yahoo mail.

GMail is free, just sign up for a free account. I think the Verizon store will even do this for you. From there you will only need to use the google account for your DINC stuff, like App Brain or the Marketplace.

I've never actually heard anyone say Yahoo is better. Is Yahoo still at 250MB of email space?

IMO it's not better. Not even a little. Hell, I'd take Hotmail over yahoo any day of the week.

But LOTS of people do still use it. Expecially it they have had it from back when it was "good" (what... 7-8 years ago?) and they just don't want to deal with changing.

I am pretty sure they now have unlimited mail storage. But their attachment size is limited to 25mb. May seem like a lot to some but it really isn't

Maybe it's just me though, I sent maybe 1 email out a week, get maybe 10 a week if that.. it's not a big part of the reason I want this phone. I just like yahoo because it's more clean and organized, and the yahoo homepage makes me happy haha.

Sounds like me. I hardly ever send emails but I get a ton of them. I also order just about everything except toliet paper from online so I need my email for orders.

I just checked my sent items and I have sent a total of 9 emails in the last 3 months. 2 of them were to myself :(

I don't think your attacking me at all. As far as clean and organized goes: I love the layout of the homepage; The 4 news stories, links on the left, the mail with a (1) when you get a new message. Overall I just like the simplicity of the homepage. Going in the mail, I use the classic because it's over-simplified, I have one inbox and a Save box. I don't know how else to explain it, I am very picky with things like this and I have learned to love yahoo. For someone who just needs an email pretty much to check orders and login to websites, yahoo is perfect for me.

And my name is @ymail.com. The only thing that bugs me is people are like "Oh, you mean gmail?" and i'm like no.. ymail haha.
