Isyncr Vs DoubleTwist Music Apps -Anyone Tried Both?

I've heard mixed reviews about DoubleTwist with Evo. Some say good, some say too complex, some say not worth the time and effort.

What I haven't seen is much on the app iSyncr which is supposedly much more simple and set up specifically for easy conversion of iTunes music and playlists.

Has anyone tried iSyncr and care to point out it's pros and cons? Also, how does it compare to DT and which of the two would you recommend?

I tried DT and while it was fairly simple to use (create a EVO playlist in iTunes and select it to sync) it did not transfer album art that was not embedded.

iSyncr synced all of the album art without having to use any secondary programs to embed art. Simple, effective, and cheap. Win-win.

Doubletwist is nice with an elegant and iTunes-like UI. Unfortunately, it takes a tremendous time to sync (both with iTunes itself and then with the phone). From reading the forums, it seems that there is likely some syncing error that is causing the problem and that the DT team is working on reducing such errors. However, until that time, DT is a suboptimal solution.

iSyncr definitely gets the job done. It's not nearly as clean or elegant (you end up running an executable from your mounted Android device), but can identify and update specific playlists quickly. The biggest complaint I have for iSyncr is that it does not remember which playlists you have synced...

As much as I want DT to succeed (and it shows promise), I think iSyncr is the best/fastest way to get quick and dirty syncing with iTunes at the moment.

I'm going to be getting an EVO soon and have been looking into this myself. I downloaded doubleTwist and it seems like a good program, but very slow. And I personally didn't want a whole new media player, I just want something that can transfer things elegantely to the EVO and still use iTunes.

Is iSyncr a full fledged replacement for iTunes, like doubleTwist, or just a program that syncs to the EVO?

EDIT: Should probably clarify that I'm using a Mac.

I tried both and found that Salling Media Sync works the best for me on my Mac. Works great with iPhoto as well

iSyncr all the way. Doubletwist wouldn't sync all the songs in my playlists and is incredibly slow. Eventually it stopped recognizing my Evo altogether. Running an executable on the phone isn't as user friendly as iTunes but it's been rock solid. Always gets the correct songs as well as playlists and album art. I use the stock player on the Evo works just fine to me.

You can set iSyncr to load your playlists automatically using the options button when you sync. Then it will auto load the last playlists each time you re-launch it. I use it that way for my smart playlists.

Hmm... I tried checking off that option but it still didn't remember the playlists. I'll have to monkey around with it a bit more.

BTW -- I believe they sell two different versions of Isyncr in the market, one for PC and the other for Mac.

I just got my EVO yesterday and am having some issues with my music. I haven't tried iSyncr yet, but any chance that a different sync program might solve my issues? I'm having albums appear multiple times (a separate album for each Artist on albums that have tracks like "Artist X featuring Y") regardless of my Album Artist field in iTunes, or ones that are set as Compilations making all the tracks have the artist "Various Artists" regardless of what I do.

Also, what music player do you guys use on your phones?

DT didn't sync over all my album art covers. Also, on a few tracks where it did add the album art cover it added to the wrong tracks on the phone.

I purchased iSyncr & it worked great!

i purchased isyncr and found the sync process really straightforward and easy. but on the phone, it uses the native music player, and it is not finding any of the playlists I synced. it only shows a couple from my previous experiment with media link. not sure if its an isync issue or what.

I have a mac as well, and after some research I found iSyncr by JRTStudio works great. I have not tried Doubletwist which is another alternative, but personally didn't want/need an entire library app looking program.

I just wanted something simple that synced my playlists made in iTunes as well as my album art. And with that in mind iSyncr works great! The first app i bought with $$ at all.

I will note, that a playlist name must be unique in name for them to sync over to your phone as a separate playlist. (found this out the hard way)

I tied Double Twist but had problems with playlists and it was way slow. Isyncr seems much faster and copies all my playlists.
The problem I am having is that all my songs are on there twice as well as most of my palylists.
Is there an easy way of deleting the duplicates without just reformating my sd card and losing my photos and wall papers etc?

I'm using the free version of Easy Phone Tunes. It's fairly easy and quick. Much prefer it over DT.

Very simple: DoubleTwist sucks. Slows down your computer, tries to reformat everything, even if it's in the right format, doesn't keep play counts correctly, etc. iSyncr rocks. Very simple. Hooks right into the iTunes playlists and syncs them over. You are responsible for having the right video format in your iTunes libraries, but that's not a big deal, especially if you're using VideoMonkey for conversions. **iSyncr** all the way!
