What is your "Incredible" Story about how you got your phone?

I came home from work to have my babysitter hand me a package. I didn't remember ordering anything but I opened it anyway. and lo and behold it was an HTC incredible! I found my self very wrapped up in this gift of god, that I may have ignored a few people knocking at the door.

What is your story how you got your incredible?

Not really incredible, just lucky. Bought online on the 24th, bought a case on the 27th. The phone was set to arrive on the 29th and the case on the 28th and i guess FedEx had both packages and decided to send it out early. Got both my case and the phone on the 28th! I was lucky because even people who pre-ordered online on the 18th had not received theirs. Dodged a bullet!

On the morning of 4/29 I was up early to prepare for a presentation. I'd misplaced my ipod and was anxious about finding it. I thought "Maybe I could just get a new smartphone to replace my ipod, if only Verizon would get a phone I like." So I went online and it turned out the inc had just been released. I agonized for a week over paying the $30 a month data plan before decided to buy one. I called the nearest best buy and they had two in stock. On my way to bb I decided to stop at the local Verizon store and see if they had any in stock. It turned out they had one, so I bought it. Ohh, and it was nice.

Me: You have any Incredibles in stock?"
VZ Guy: Yes
Me: I'll take it
VZ Guy: For 973-xxx-xxx?
Me: Yes

Walk to my car 5 minutes later!

Couldn't pre-order because I was asking for early upgrade so I had to wait for official launch. Verizon rep took my number and said she would call me on launch day for my order. Launch day (4/29) phoned in my order. Same day at lunch walked into local Verizon store sales guy said they had plenty of them so I cancelled my phone order and walked out with a new DInc.

pulling into the VZW store to ORDER my Dinc, I absentmindedly pulled my 2008 Honda S2000's bumper and front spoiler (which is only 5" off of the ground) to close to a parking curb. It rolled the lip under and also damaged the bumper cover. First painting attempt did not yield a matching paint color. Car is now in a different shop getting repainted, with hopefully a better match. Looking at over $600 worth of paint work for a $500 phone. (not to mention the 3 week wait for the phone) Love my Dinc. tho.

Once upon a time I put my pre order in online a day before they were supposed to be taking pre-orders, received phone 2 days before official release date. Have been feeling sorry for people that had to wait for weeks.

Here is my story.
Yesterday I received my 3rd! refurb Eris replacement in only 6 months!
I haven't even installed any apps yet, and I get a call this morning, and what do you know, silence.
I was P.O. to say the least. I kept my cool, and called big red.
told them my story, and she said that there is a software update coming out Friday for the Eris that will "fix" this issue. Before I could even get a word in to complain, she said that she will "see what she can do" since I've already gone through so much crap.(not her exact words lol)
She comes back and says that she can offer me the moto droid. And I kindly explained to her that as I do appreciate this, if I wanted a moto droid I would have bought it, the extra money wasn't the issue, and that I chose the Eris for a reason, and that it made no sense to me that I have a phone from HTC crapping out, and they wanna give me a moto, when there is a brand new almost the same as the Eris made by HTC why not give me a phone by the same company. I then said that we are on a family plan, and have been for over a decade!, and we have been loyal customers that have never missed a payment, with 5 people on the contract, and that if I don't get something better than a moto droid that we have been considering changing to atat and that we would be gone in less than a month. she went to talk to her supervisor, and came back and told me she could cancel my contract (free of charge), and start a new 2 year, giving me the incredible for the two year price.

So, sorry for the long as story here is the verdict.

I get to keep the Eris that I just got yesterday! already on craigslist and being sold today at 2pm lol

AND, I will be getting a brand new HTC INCREDIBLE delivered by fedex in the next couple of days.

So I think I made out quite well, I get a brand new incredible that I had to pay $100 for but get a $100 rebate so technically im paying nothing, AND I get to keep a like new refurb Eris that I just got yesterday.

Seeing that some are still waiting I guess my story is more lucky then anything. I went to a VZW corp. store on NE2 date looking to upgrade from a BB Curve to a BB Bold and the sales person told me about the DINC and showed me hers and let me test it out a bit and I said ok I will take it. She said you have to come back tomorrow when it releases and that the store would open at 0600. I said ok thats perfect you open before work and you are on my to work. Found this site and I have learned everything about my DINC right here. Thanks to all for the help.

I had read about the Incredible and was interested in trying android. The only problem was my NE2 date was sept '10. May 6th I walked in to my local BJ's store that has a Verizon store inside to look at the Dinc.
The salesperson asked if I was interested so I told him yea but I had to wait until Sept. He looked in the system at my acct and told me I could early upgrade. Ordered at 6pm May 6th Fedex delivered on May 7th, even tho on the verizon website they were backordered.
Been a happy owner ever since

I drove 90 miles in about an hour - to make it to the wireless store near king of prussia, PA (from the NYC area) - and I made it before the store closed. I think it is an INCREDIBLE phone.

Pre ordered a couple weeks before release. Came to my front door a day early. Not an incredible story but the moral is if you want a phone on time pre order it and don't wait around..... lovin the i'm since minus day 1

Friday June 18th, got told by my local Verizon store that they'd get back to me when they got one in, but it was unlikely to be any time soon because they had been coming in so rarely so I might just have to wait it out.

Got a surprise call on Monday 21st saying they'd got one in already.

Walked three blocks to pick it up.

Excitement ensued. Rather like this story.
