Here is my story.
Yesterday I received my 3rd! refurb Eris replacement in only 6 months!
I haven't even installed any apps yet, and I get a call this morning, and what do you know, silence.
I was P.O. to say the least. I kept my cool, and called big red.
told them my story, and she said that there is a software update coming out Friday for the Eris that will "fix" this issue. Before I could even get a word in to complain, she said that she will "see what she can do" since I've already gone through so much crap.(not her exact words lol)
She comes back and says that she can offer me the moto droid. And I kindly explained to her that as I do appreciate this, if I wanted a moto droid I would have bought it, the extra money wasn't the issue, and that I chose the Eris for a reason, and that it made no sense to me that I have a phone from HTC crapping out, and they wanna give me a moto, when there is a brand new almost the same as the Eris made by HTC why not give me a phone by the same company. I then said that we are on a family plan, and have been for over a decade!, and we have been loyal customers that have never missed a payment, with 5 people on the contract, and that if I don't get something better than a moto droid that we have been considering changing to atat and that we would be gone in less than a month. she went to talk to her supervisor, and came back and told me she could cancel my contract (free of charge), and start a new 2 year, giving me the incredible for the two year price.
So, sorry for the long as story here is the verdict.
I get to keep the Eris that I just got yesterday! already on craigslist and being sold today at 2pm lol
AND, I will be getting a brand new HTC INCREDIBLE delivered by fedex in the next couple of days.
So I think I made out quite well, I get a brand new incredible that I had to pay $100 for but get a $100 rebate so technically im paying nothing, AND I get to keep a like new refurb Eris that I just got yesterday.
