I was talking to a friend who has the Nexus ONE and he informed me that the Mini-USB port on the side of the Incredible is made for something more than just for charging with a Mini-USP cable...something about video out? Anyone got the skinny on what it does/what cables you need?

So I take it that HD Component cables will be in the near future with 720p resolution coming this week?

BTW...how did that guy get Finding Nemo on his phone???

When u connect the Dinc to the computer you have the option to mount it as a hard drive, as long as the movie you are adding to your phone is a compatible video type it will play no problem. If its not you should be able to do a google search for whatever type it is and get a converter for it.

I didn't say HDMI...I said Component. Component cables (red, blue, green, white & red) support 720p where as standard video out (yellow, red and white) does not. If we can take 720p video, wouldn't you want to display it in high def?

This is the only known USB to TV Cable available on the market for the DInc.

Google Search: incredible tv out cable
HTC Droid Incredible TV-Out Cable

This cable to forever to become available. It was "out of stock" for quite a while. This leads me to believe that USB to Component or USB to HDMI would be way down the road if even at all.

Would I want to play 720 on my TV? Yes, but it's not practical for me. But not everyone has an HD TV. Honestly, I would prefer to have my 720p videos on my computer so that I can use them on my blog or for family events.

I use a media server to stream to my TV anyway.

Cool I'll have to try that. My only problem is all of my movies are on iTunes and have that damn DRM protection and Apple has no way of removing the DRM so I can do whatever I want with the videos. I envision in the near future I can be waiting in line and watching Caddyshack at the same time. "Licensed to kill gophers...but the government of the United Nations..." LOL

Trust me...it can be removed pretty easily. Just do a google search. I would post the links that I just found, but I have a feeling that I might get an Infraction for it (Can a Mod confirm this please?).

Ok...one last question, is there anywhere I can d/l movies (legally) that don't have DRM so I can transfer?

Google Search: where to legally download dvd

http://www.movielink.com/

CinemaNow - Online Movies - Download Movies - Rent and Buy Movies Online

is there a program for MAC that I can rip my DVD's to the format for the DInc?

Google Search: how to rip and convert dvd on a mac

Handbrake Mac -- how to use handbrake for Mac to rip DVD on Mac and convert video on Mac
