What is your favorite platform to play games on?

I'm a diehard PC gamer personally. Honestly I think its the best way to play games. I defiantly prefer using a keyboard+mouse over a controller, its just so much more precise. I also love being able to get better looking graphics running at higher framerates.

What do you guys play on?

I love all the nintendo portables. I'm a huge fan of retro gaming so having all the older games coming to the DS (ok and Wii too) has been so exciting for me. I just enjoy games with some real story and gameplay instead of just graphics. Don't get me wrong, there have been some amazing current generation games but I don't think any have really hit the level of a Chrono Trigger.

I've been avoiding this once peaceful section of Android Forums where gamers just talked about their games and their consoles. Now it's WAR! lol Well... at least that was my last impression of it.

Yeahhhhh, that's pretty much what he has made it out to be. Personally, I don't care enough anymore to argue so he can talk to a wall or a screen lol. I had him on my ignore list but I was curious what kind of blasphemy he posted so I removed him lol.

I've been considering picking up a DS lately. Any recommendations of some good RPG games?

The final fantasy 3 remake is awesome and if you've never played Chrono Trigger definitely pick that up. Actually pick it up even if you havent played it. Its childish and silly but the Pokemon games have always been a favourite of mine. Children of Mana is fun and Dragon Quest IX just came out though i havent played it. I will recommend getting a DSi but not the XL. Its a larger screen with the same resolution so blech. Knights in the Nightmare is another awesome RPG. In the non-rpg front I would say you definitely should look into the castlevania games, mario kart, new super mario bros and the Professor Layton series.

I like the 360 for online gaming. I live far away from my boyfriend so its great to play games together. The Wii is fun interactive games, party games, and for kids. I have a PS2 which I use for Guitar Hero and DDR, the games for it are so cheap. I haven't played computer games in a long time but I do love Roller coaster tycoon and Sim City. I also have an N64, never use it but its nice to have.

But overall i would say xbox, they have some great games and playing online is fun.

I like the xbox 360. the whole experience IMO is just better than other consoles. I havent played on a PC since team fortress and counter strike so I really cant give an up to date unbiased opinion. I am going to be looking at building a really nice PC next year to catch up on some of the PC games I have missed, mainly Crysis. I enjoyed the PS3 but honestly I really didnt like the controller design and I found that playing the same games on the 360 just felt better. I guess quite a few others feel the same way too:

I really like that I can stream Netflix directly to my 360 without having to go and put in a disc to allow streaming, that IMO with the tech available today is just ridiculous. I think all the systems have their own positives and negatives. I really like some of the throwback games on the Wii, Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart are the sh!t, esp when drunk. The kids love the Wii, they laugh at some of the games I play on the 360, and we all enjoyed the Blue Ray on the PS3.

All in all though the 360 is bread and butter. It may not flaunt the so called technological advances the PS3 has (Blue Ray is really all there is) but it does what it does incredibly well. I had a launch unit with no problems playing extremely heavy sessions on it and it lasted just about 3 years, and when it had burned out, it was replaced by MS, took 3 weeks from ship to return and I got an extra 1 month of live via a card that MS sent back out with the unit. The online play is excellent, esp compared to what I have experienced with the PS3 online play and what I've seen. PS3 servers suck IMO, thats why they're free, MS servers dont, thats why there is a nominal yearly fee.

My solution for the fanboy troll attached below, nothing that guy says or does is considered a discussion and I got tired of his rants long ago. He's worse IMO than the apple fanboys that think the iphone4 is a brick of gold that android cant touch and refuses to accept or acknowledge that individuals can agree to disagree. Discussions go two ways, all he wants to do is tout opinion and troll...

I have played Chrono Trigger but I would most likely pick it up just to play it all over again. Not a big fan of the Pokemon so I'll steer clear from that series. I'll look into the others you mentioned. Thanks for the input.

I have a Xbox and a PS3, but the Xbox pretty much gathers dust these days since getting the PS3, and the good Xbox exclusives have long-since disappeared and playing on Xbox Live was a chore, as it was full of kids screaming abuse into headsets. It's not going to get better now that Microsoft have decided to go the "kiddie games" route with Kinect.

The PS3 is a grown up console IMHO. The Xbox is for spotty teenagers, the Wii is for children and grandparents.

LOL! You always did have the option to mute them after all. They do get annoying from time to time but as I said before that's why the mute function was been set in place. Sometimes they are actually entertaining so I might listen until my ear drums feel they are about to burst.

I get the Xbox exclusives on PC, however since the Xbox exclusives drought started, ive not done too much PC gaming.

Thank god for sports games :) I've been spending all my gaming time playing MLB2K10 and Madden 2010. I've played a bit of Dragon Age too so I could finish the new DLCs that came out that I missed (Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song).
