Root Best, stable 2.x rom?

I always wipe then it's not big deal. I have this stupid lag when I exit from app. I have weather, calendar, data counter, buttery widget on my ignore list in task killer. I killed everything now and no more lag, but what is the point to not have the lag when I need those apps to run all the time?

Do you have "Keep home in memory" ticked in Spare Parts?

Has anyone flashed CM6 Froyo yet???

I did yesterday. seems to be working well so far. disabling the screen dithering option in the Cyanogen Performance tweaks settings helped make things a little faster. I also enabled JIT in the settings (it's off by default), but I think my mt3g seems to work better with it disabled.

Also, regarding the market FC's. They updated the gapps file in the CM forum to fix that ... or at least I haven't had any market FC's yet. http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...ey-said-it-couldnt-do-that-v600-rc1-07112010/

BTW - The auto-update app option and the Update All button is so great to finally have!

I tried last night using the new gapps file and kept getting "The process android.process.acore stop unexpectedly." So i couldnt tap the android to begin. Did this happen to you???

I wiped all 5 options, flashed CM6.0, the flashed gapps FRF91-MDPI-3, no worky.

strange. I forget .. what are the other wipe options? I only did the first two in Amon_Ra's recovery. Also, I flashed the FRF91-MDPI-2 gapps. It was before FRF91-MDPI-3 was available.

What radio do you have? Would that make a difference? I'm still using the older 2.22.19.26I

Nutz, I just noticed that you have the newer mt3g with the headphone jack. I have the original. Aren't there separate ROMs for that?

I downloaded the ROM for my phone i know that, as far as the gapps, there are so many floating around out there that i dont know which one is the working one (or the best). Right now i reverted back to CM 5.0.8 with the gapps i had before and its working fine. Maybe ill try the -2 gapps tonight and see how that works out.

I was using CM6, however i was unable to receive all my text messages after a while. Sometimes i would and sometimes i couldn't. I even updated the radio on it. I have a section in here some where on this forum about it. Still did not work. I even went to Tmobile and got a new sim card. Not even 30 minutes after reboot it failed again.

Here are my thoughts on the Current 2.x roms and links to direct downloads if your interested (MT3G v1.0)

2.2 ROM's

Cm6 <-- great rom. Apps2SD can be done. One by one. Its a pain but can be done. 3d games very laggy, normal use of the phone great. Just try not to be in a hurry it will freeze on you. Also rebooted a lot if it needed one. Would stay in a loop for about 20 minutes then give up and finally turn on. Over all if i did not have the issues i would still be using.

SuperFly (aka SuperBad) <-- Dont know. With all the testing on the 2.2's i might just leave them alone for a while.

SuperF
<-- its a test. Not to excited about tests.

2.1 ROM'S

CM 5.0.8 <-- Another good rom. I dont remember why i changed to the CM6 but i think it had something to do with a lot of force close apps.

SuperBad CM5
<-- What i am currently using. To be honest i have to say this reminds me of Super D (1.9.3... he lost me at 1.10)
Anywho i have not had any issues NONE. My phone feels faster then it ever has, i can still play all my 3d games without any lag now. My battery life is great. Almost 2 full days without a charge (minimal use), I figured out how to do the app2sd thing and frees up a lot of internal ram. Personally i have no complaints on this one so far.

Super E
<-- I honestly dont know. Maybe if i have troubles again with the phone ill check it out. I have been contemplating on this one or super bad. Maybe this will be the next one.

There are plenty of 2.x roms out there to choose. There are another 9 more out there for the MT3G. I have only commented on the ones i will try and or tried. I feel that they are the most reliable one's. Now please dont go bashing me this is just an opinion im sure there may be better ones out there i just dont know of them yet.

Hope this helps some one

Installed CM 5.0.8 today and love it so far. The only quirks I've noticed are that the home screen takes AWHILE to load, and it had trouble reading my call settings for google voice. It ended up cooperating, but gave me a few error messages along the way. Not really too sure what that was about, but as long as it works, then whatev!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but who makes Super D?
Also, what do I need to do to prep for apps2sd? I know I need a fast sd card to start with.

in CM5 there is a "keep home in memory" option that you could try. It's either in the Spare Parts app or in the CyanogenMod settings (I can't remember).

Here's the guy that makes Super D, E, and now working on F: www.benbuchacher.com |

Awesome, thanks, I'll look for that.

Btw, also noticed that Pandora is skippy. Not too sure what that's about...

EDIT:
in CM5 there is a "keep home in memory" option that you could try.

Wow! That's MUCH better, thanks! Will this create a significant drain on my battery?
