What are you doing to prepare for your Galaxy S?

I'll be getting the Captivate soon and have started the preparation process.

1) appbrain.com to pick apps I want to install OTA (over the air) Here is my list of apps.
jhnstn00's My GalaxyS Apps
2) Gmail account has all my contacts and Calendar events updated.

3) Create a google voice account. I haven't done this but others may want to.

4) Accounts already subscribed to Dropbox, Evernote, Slacker, Pandora, Skyfire, Opera Mini, Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, XDA, Android Central.

5) chaoscentral on this forum (and XDA) has a root captivate thread which i will follow. Hope he will do a "Step by step Rooting the Captivate for Dummies" for us noobs.

When I get my phone, will install Appbrain app to allow OTA installation of my apps.

Once all done, I will have my apps, contacts, Notes, misc in Drobox, pics in Picasa, and Calendar backed up in a cloud.

Since Captivate is locked from sideloading, not sure if all these apps will load. :(

What are you doing to get ready for your new Galaxy S?

What must haves will you load?

I'll be getting my Vibrant Thursday morning, and will be rooting as soon as I get it home, and getting used to Android again. (Last android phone I had was a rooted G1 about 4 months ago, but have had a grand total of 4 in the past 9 months)

Must have apps for me:

Handcent SMS
Launcher Pro
Fancy Widgets
Google Voice
Facebook
Pandora
Twitter

and loading a ton of movies onto my 16GB card from my recently deceased HD2

Will be my first Android. Is there a root procedure for Vibrant or will you just try to figure it out? I saw there was a root for Euro version Galaxy S.

There is a root for Vibrant, and can be modified to work with the Captivate most likely. Since the bootloader is most likely the same it allows just about any signed update.zip, so root is extremely easy.
