For anyone with bad battery life

Ok I know the task killer topic has been debated a lot and I always used ATK just because it was the first one that popped up when I searched it. However, my battery life was always horrible...about 6 hours before a charge. I was complaining to a friend of mine who has an evo and he told me to try Advanced task cleaner and use the autokill option for apps that open for no reason. So I tried this and I seriously have gone up to about 14-15 hours of battery life and I use my phone a lot. Check it out for what its worth. I think you'll be impressed.

What he said....task killers are for killing apps that are malfunctioning, just because an app shows up in ATK or any other taskkiller doesn't mean its using memory or battery. They should only be used to force close an app that's not working the way it should.

Without my task killer I find that my up and awake times stay the same. Until that problem is solved I guess I'll stick to my task killers.

This is easily fixed by simply deselecting anything that keeps track of time. They won't be killed. Simple.

And what I have to say for anyone with bad battery life is to buy the touch pro 2 1500mah battery for $15 on ebay. You will be satisfied. Just buy it from the seller bidalles. I bought one from him and it was unused. No scratches or wear on the battery contacts.

For what it's worth, I complained to HTC through their support forms about battery life. They responded indicating that they were aware of a problem and were still researching it. Then sometime after that, I received a link to a survey about how my dealing with HTC Support went. I rated them poorly as I was still unhappy with battery life and that it seemed to be a fairly big problem for a lot of people and they had not done much to fix it. Because I rated them poorly, a representative actually called me this past Saturday to talk to me about why I rated them poorly. When I explained that as soon as I see official word posted on their site or out on some of the forums that they were going to fix a widespread problem, I would continue to not think so highly of them. They have been pretty absent in ALL of the forums I've looked at where lots of people complain about Incredible battery life. He assured me that they were working feverishly on a software fix for battery life. And that they are concentrating on the "presence" of 3G signal and how much the phone is draining the battery when a signal is not available. He could not give me any time lines on when an update would be available. Only stated that once they have a sure fix, it would have to go through Google first and then once they give the go ahead, Verizon would have to approve it and then push it out as an automatic update.

figure out what is causing them to stay the same. There are only 3 reasons : constant usage, just restarted phone, or something is updating/running in the background. Using a task killer is only the proverbial bandaid... check the battery status and what's been using it. There has to be something else going on.

Actually, a taskiller could CAUSE this. A task starts a service that keeps the phone from sleep%ng temporarily, and gets killed before it can turn off that service. So the orphaned service keeps running. Do yourself a favor, stop using the TK. Start using a task manager instead. System panel has diagnosed these kind of problems for me and lets you kill any stuck apps.
