incredible frustration - keyboard orientation help

I got a droid incredible (finally) this past weekend and so far I am absolutely loving the experience. However, I have one major complaint that, while it seems simple, is very important to me. When I turn the phone counterclockwise, the screen reorients itself with horizontal display. If i turn it clockwise, it does not. This is especially frustrating when usimg the phone when it is plugged in because the cord gets in the way of typing. I have looked aroind in settings and found nothing. Is there an app, either a fix or another keyboard, that will make the horizontal screen orientation work either way? Or did i possibly miss a well hidden setting? I can't imagine Google would make such a poor decision as this.

Clockwise Horizontal Orientation only works if your phone has Android 2.2. So you will have to wait until HTC updates the Incredible to 2.2.

Meaning once the phone gets 2.2 -- Droid, Incredible, Droid X, whatever -- you can turn it both ways and the keyboard will align properly?

This issue was the one thing I was dreading about getting a Droid X.

Thanks for the info -- I thought this was built into the Droid OS as a matter of course. Tried the Eris, the Incredible and the Droid and all of them only turn the one way (understandable with the Droid, obviously)...but really made no sense to me, especially after I tinker with the iPod Touch.

If you're rooted, I believe there's a few custome ROMs that does a full 360 degrees rotation and not half ass 270 degrees that 2.2 has lol.

LOL well...I haven't gotten my Droid X yet so I'm not yet rooted...but if you're goofing around as to the 270 degree twirl-a-whirl, then I'll prolly hold off 'til 2.2 and then root by the end of the summer. Maybe

2.2 only does 3 ways rotation...thus 270 degrees Before 2.2 came out, it was rumored that Google would include a full 360 degree rotations. I guess they though, 'why the heck would someone want to use their phone upside down'. That's why it's 270 degrees instead.

LOL awesome...so the phone goes both ways and will do three-ways...

Yowza... I haven't been this optimistic about a hand-held device since I visited the Playboy Mansion
