Help Playing videos in full and wide screen?

Just got an x10 I convert and move mpeg4 videos to the phone. The videos play fine however they are not full screen in landscape. Instead in landscape mode they are more square shaped videos.

How can i play videos in full wide screen?

Please note that i havent downloaded any video/media player apps, im using thr default one on the x10.

Two things:

1) first try this... when the movie starts double tap the movie. It should/may expand it. I had videos I created for a different phone, tried this and it worked/helped for most of them.

2) when creating the videos you should try and use the screen size of 480 X 854. Likely the default you used when creating the videos were for a default smaller screen (like an ipod or iphone)

Yeah i was thinkin about converting using the correct resolution, that should work. Will try the double tap function.

You could try zimly from the app market, so far it has played every video I had on my old LG KC910 in full size on the X10 and with a clearer picture than media scape does plus zimly looks very nice to

what is the best format to use when converting.
ie. .3gp / .mp4 etc??

The best is mp4 with h264 video and aac+ audio.

Yeah for the 1ghz x10 mp4 is fine and good quality and runs smoothly. Less powerfull phones cant handle big resolution mp4 videos, it starts lagging haha.

By the way some use mp4 with h.265 for HD video. Are our x10 HD now? Or will it be with an update?

I found the best option and works wonders, I use Xilisoft Ultimate video converter 6
I chose iphone as the file format then customized as follows.

Res 854x480 (this will play vids full screen when the phone is horizontal)
Video quality set to highest
and same with sound.
Under the advance settings set zoom to full and fps to 29.97

this looks almost perfect on the X10 and is in full screen!!!
The only problem I fine is the brightness, but I think thats got more to do with droid 1.6 and its 65k colour limit!!

Use the default converter that comes with the phone n resize/convert to 854*480. It workds but patience needed as file conversion takes time.

Cool, never knew the phone came with a convertor. Im guessing the convertor is within the 'media go' sony software?

I use my favourite convertor by Xilisoft.
