Seattle- ish
I know this has been covered before, but man it's getting old getting misinformation and different answers from every person I talk to at RS and T-Mobile stores. I called RS and they said Vibrant doesn't launch until the 21st, so I figured my $50 gc was worthless, cuz I'm getting this phone asap! After calling local T-MO store and explaining to the employee what a Vibrant is, I find out it's $250 with a $50 mailin rebate ( hate these). Then I call RS back to ask about accessories to use up my now useless gc, and he tells me preorders closed and they WILL be available on the 15th after all. I have to blame T-Mobile for most of it, not putting out info.

perhaps doing some of your own online research would have told you the definite release date was the 15th, its been common knowledge for almost a week now.

Thanks for the advice, skippy. Actually I've done not much else but research this phone, sadly. And yes, I have read many rumors about this release date being the 15th, but until you talk to someeone to authenticate the rumors they remain just that, rumors. But, your probably right.... if you read it online that makes it true, right?

There was concrete information since last week. Like chaoscentral said, if you actually researched you would have known that. Almost every popular tech/android blogs have posted the information. And yes, T-mobile has an official twitter account if you ever doubted it; that's where the concrete proof came from, FYI, not someone's "source."

It's concrete when its glued to my hand. Again, I have read many of these tech/android blogs, many of which had differing info. I knew T- mo was launching 7/15 but since I pre-ordered thru RS, I wanted a definitive answer from an actual in store employee to give me a warm fuzzy and know my $50 gc preorder would be put to good use. This seemingly simple task was excruciatingly difficult was my point, and I'm certainly not the first to make it. Research that.

Both RS and TMO store employees tend to be clueless, in my opinion. Not sure how TMO got that award for customer service. The other carriers must really be screwed.

I really think due to hte overall confusion across the board regardless of Tmobile stores or RS stores (even Tmobile customer service), that this was the company, TMobile, not putting out any info in a timely manner. I also think, beside the fact that we on this Forum and a few others, this handset is still very unknown and won't get much interest until after the launch, when people start seeing others using it around them.
