cant seem to get the talk to text to work on my eris anyone else have this issuse?? if so how did you get it fix if at all?

Is that actually working? I didn't think it was included in the update. I have it working on a rooted eris, but had to use a different keyboard. I don't believe the stock keyboard has the microphone symbol on the keyboard?

Your right. The stock Sense UI keyboard doesn't. However, there is a modified one that does (and I don't believe you need root to use it).

HTC IME Mod Keyboard with Voice Input (v27, June 08, 2010) - xda-developers, indeed. Its the same htc sense based keyboard, but with a few very helpful mods. You dont need root to use it either.
