Where the Sakura grows
Hey Phases/Shivers,

I was wondering if you could expand the subforums for existing *Phone* forums to include 'Support and Troubleshoot' and 'Tips and Tricks'. Also, when you create a NEW *Phone* Forum, having these at the start would keep things more organized when the phone gets released and people from the get go know where to post in the subforums. Train the users from the start you know ;)

I am not sure if you don't have subforums for some of the *Phone* Forums because they aren't that busy. It'd be nice to see all of the *Phone* Forum with subforums but this is a list of *Phone* Forums that I feel need to have the subforums:
Samsung Galaxy S
Desire
Sony Ericsson X10
HTC Hero
HTC Droid Eris
HTC Magic
Moto Milestone
Samsung Behold 2
Samsung i750
Samsung Moment
T-Mo MyTouch 3G
T-Mo MyTouch Slide

The ones that are bold will be what I'll work on once the Subforums for them are created.

Thanks,
-Roze-

As a user in the Sprint Hero forum I would not want to see it.

My .02 is that it makes following threads and finding the one you want SOOO much more difficult.

I look at the Evo forum and while it's beneficial it's a mess because users NEVER know where to post at (exception of root and accessories).

hmm...I don't think so. I think the 2 *Phone* subforums requested make the Main *Phone* Forum less clutter. The EVO 4G imo is a bit over the top with the subforums.

I actually like how the Desire Forum does the Tips and Tricks, having a main thread where people can put their tips/tricks but not all Forums have something similar to what Lekky created.

I find the Tips and Tricks threads get burried in the main forum. I mean if someone has a great tip but it was months ago, the gem stays hidden. With a Tips and Tricks section, people, especially new members will know to go there to get tips on their phones.

I don't think having a Support and Troubleshoot subforum will make it that much more confusing. I mean if you have an issue with your phone, you put it in the Support and Troubleshoot subforum.

So I'll disagree with you that having Support and Tips subforums will make finidng/following threads more difficult. It is only difficult to find the threads you want is during the 'migration/transition' phase where the threads are being moved. After that, it'll be easier and faster to find the topic you want.

Just my 0.02 :p To each their own.

I'll take the Sprint Hero from my request as you're one of the main Guide there so you know what's best for your own Forum Kelmar ;)

Cheers,

Perhaps create a poll asking the users in the individual forums what they prefer? Afterall, just because I don't personally like it doesn't mean the rest of the users won't like it! :)

FWIW, the Sprint Hero section has most the tips/tricks in a sticky at the top of the forum :p

Oh that's just more work! I just want to move threads and make things pretty and organize, lol. I'll contact Lekky about his Desire Forum...I have a feeling he might be like you. I'll do a poll for the X10 and SGS forums since I don't believe there's a Guide/Mod that's 100% dedicated to those 2 forums.

FWIW, the Sprint Hero section has most the tips/tricks in a sticky at the top of the forum :p

As you can see, I never frequent into the Sprint Hero Forum :p
