Accessories Quest for the tightest thinnest EVO Case

Case-mate Barely There:

pic.jpg

Sorry for the bad pic but it was the best I could do. I've mentioned this in other threads as well, but in case you guys havent read them, the case is thinner than a credit card is thick and perfectly form fitting. 2 thumbs up. Adds virtually no bulk and has a great "feel".

How tight is the fit? Does it snap onto the phone well? With it being that thin, Im worried about flexibility and it being easy to come off of the phone. I know its not there to protect from high drops and whatnot, but it would be nice to know that it wont go flying off if the phone is dropped.

Girlfriend just texted me to say that my CaseMate Barely There is in. I will try to do a review later on this week. I wanted this case because a friend has one for her iphone. Seems to be the perfect balance (for me) between scratch protection and size. I don't need a bulky case but something that protects the camera and sides/back of the device from scratches without making it huge in my pocket is great.

Fits nice and tight, i guess technically you could say it snaps because there is a sound when you press the phone into the case and it "locks". It has some flexibility but I would define it as more rigid than flexible. I suppose if you were to throw it at a wall the case would come off, but I think it would remain affixed when dropped. Like you mention ,it's not really to protect from high drops, but it will keep the phone from scratching and being scuffed up while not adding bulk nor taking away from the "feel" of the bare phone.

I am extremely happy with it. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Sounds good. I just ordered one for me and the girlfriend. I know its only there to protect from scratches and being scuffed. I really just like the idea of protecting the camera without adding much bulk. My phone probably will get dropped at some point though, so I figured I would ask. Im not worried about the impact protection, just all the scrapes the phone could pick up, after the case went flying off.

You'll definitely be happy with it.

I just got my case-mate today, and I'll throw up a review later as well.

Some quick thoughts -- case is pretty slim. Seems like it won't protect from major falls, but will protect against scuffing.

Very flush and tight design -- the camera hole wraps around the camera proving protection, speaker holes instead of a big hole, individual flash holes, the kickstand hole goes right up to the kickstand. So very professional attention to details and design tolerances.

...this also leads to the problem of the kickstand being nearly impossible to take out.

Power button access is ok, but the volume buttons are a little more troublesome to reach now too.

The innocase holster for the innocase case works. Can buy the combo from amazon and sell the case on ebay.

I read earlier in forum that the case was a little loose. Do you know or not and/or do you have personal experience with the combonation? I have the Seidio Activecase now (just got0 and it is too bulk but does protect well. Wanting more of a naked phone look and holster so I might be able to return the active and get the innocase........oh....here's what I read.

I almost want to return the innocase holster too because it's definitely a baggy fit in the holster. Makes me wish they made an innocase for the HD2, because I bet the holster that goes with it would be a perfect fit for the Evo with this snap on case. Either way, probably the best sub $10 case I've bought for a phone outside of the Pre holster I bought that pretty much resembles a Seidio holster in fit and finish right down to the velvet coating to protect the screen.

Highly recommend if you want some protection but want to keep the minimalist look. I bought the black too, but this ebay seller is in PA and got it to me in 3 days. I actually really like the red contrasting the black.

Vandy, you asked about the holster, not the case. and the holster for the innocase works with the tpu cases and others as well. Though, I did some arguing with Seidio, and they sent me the updated version and gave me a $20 credit. The updated case is a much firmer fit. I'd still like it thinner, but it's still on par thickness wise with the tpu cases. So I've gone back to the innocase.

And no, the amzer and other tpu cases are not thinner than the innocase. They are about the same. Both fit in the holster and proclip holder without making an adjustment.

dbpaddler,

Thanks, I see what I said now (I can't type and don't proof read). Your response tells a lot. I think I will go with the ebay clear hard case Ebay Item number 260614590361 and the innocase holster to have as little as possible on the phone and it showing off it's good looks. You or anyone, do you know who the case on ebay is made by?? It would be nice if it were possible to get them both from the same place. Especially if it results in free shipping.

Thanks again dbpaddler!!

I got a screen protector and a crystal case from Paw Avenue and both are totally awesome. The screen protector covers the full screen and is a perfect fit. Very easy to install, no bubbles, and best of all, no fingerprints! The case fits perfect, and keeps the camera lens off of surfaces. I did go with the red thinking it would accent the red on the back of the phone, I wish I had gone with the black now. Guess I'll order another one

i'm super happy with Paw Avenue but i can't believe their screen protectors are as amazing as their cases! can you compare it to another brand of protector you've tried?

Seidio is pretty much the only ones that make a holder for an encased phone. Nobody else really cares to. That's why I mentioned to get the innocase combo on Amazon and sell the case. Or just buy the combo, see how you like the innocase and then decide to keep it or sell it to get the case of your chase and just hold on to the holster.

I was thinking of doing this for my wifes phone (she doesnt want the clip, i thought i would take an extra), but it seemed to me they sold two different clips, one for with the case installed and one for without...so if you buy the combo and remove the case, the clip may not properly hold the phone, no???

Sorry, don't have the Green Case. I can affirm that Paw Avenue is a Great ebay place to buy. I received my "Clear" snap-on case yesterday (By the way I ordered it Saturday...........2 Days!! Wow). Anyway, the case fits perfect on a naked phone. the Camera "slightly" touches when laid on its back but I mean slightly. The front comes around some so when you lay flay on front, the screen does not touch. Corners protected, and the case is snug as a bug in a rug. No moving around. With it being clear, it's a great way to show off the phone but protect as well.

I'll let you know when I get the seidio innocase holster how snug it fits with this case. dbpaddler said it fit so i believe.
