Apps Fixing Helix force-close loop?

I'm running Helix (a Launcher substitute) on my Nexus One (Android 2.1), and during an attempt to reconfigure it, I got stuck in a Helix force-close loop. I can't do anything. The Menu, Search, Home, and Back buttons don't work at all, even if I quickly press them after selecting the Force Close button. All that's happening is that I continually get the Force Close dialog box.

I'd like to just uninstall com.helixproject.launcher, but I can't get into Settings, nor anything else. All I can do is keep shutting down and rebooting.

I connected my desktop to my Nexus One via USB and then ran this:

adb uninstall com.helixproject.launcher

However, it just goes into waiting for device mode. I think I need to get into Developers Mode or something like that on my Nexus One, but I can't get into Settings in order to do that because of the Force Close loop.

I'm running Amon RA's bootloader and a Cyanogen ROM, if that helps.

How can I uninstall that launcher?

Thanks in advance.

Can you get into adb shell from recovery?
Aha! Yes, I can! Thank you!

... but I don't think I'm seeing everything on my device. If I do an ls, I only see this much:

Code:
/ # ls
cache init res system
data init.goldfish.rc root tmp
default.prop init.mahimahi.rc sbin
dev init.rc sdcard
etc proc sys

If I issue the following command, nothing shows up:

find / -name 'com.helixproject.launcher*'

Is there something else I need to do in order to find my Helix app and delete it?

Thanks again.

Edit: I see the system in your ls -- you're probably not looking for the right name, the application file ends in .apk and won't have the com.etc.etc -- it'll just be something like helix.apk

The next question is: if you delete the app that the phone is looking to run on startup as your launcher, will it default to the stock launcher or just hang?

Thank you, but there is only one small file under /system when I do this. Do I perhaps have to issue some sort of mount command before I can see the rest of my data?

Based on what I have read elsewhere, I'm pretty sure that once I delete the offending launcher app, the stock launcher will be used by default.
