Droid X Available at Wirefly.com for $179.99

Yeah, I ran through the checkout process to see what my price would be.

299.99
- Online discount
- NE2
= 149.99
- PRMCD10
= 134.99

The smartbuy30 code wouldn't work for me and I'd still have to pay $8.99 for overnight shipping (because I'm impatient).

I'm so torn, though. Nobody in my family plan is eligible for an upgrade until March 2011 and I'm not sure I want to wait that long for a new phone. I'm perfectly happy with my DROID and I'm not sure I'd like not having a physical keyboard. I'm one of the few that actually use and love the DROID physical keyboard. I just love having new toys. I think I'm going to hold off.

I just don't want to end up with buyer's remorse.

Fin.

wirefly also has $50 BING cashback and no tax. makes me a happy camper because california charges tax on the FULL PRICE of cell phones (tax would be $50 for me!). ultimately, for new customers in california it's
Verizon: $200 - $20 (10% coupon) = $180 + $50 tax + $35 activation = $265
Wirefly: $180 + $35 activation - $50 BING = $165 :eek::eek::eek:

i ended up not doing it because it started getting confusing to just upgrade the secondary line on a family plan

Hey, maniacman54,
Where did you get confused? Let me know and I'll try to walk you through the process. I'd be happy to help.

To upgrade a non-primary line, just click on the "See All Plans" link under "Customize Your Plan Option" on right of page. Then select "add-on-line upgrade" and you're on your way.

Thanks,
Wirefly Jeff

Yea it is confusing. I didnt pay attention to that and ended up with a plan with 450 minutes. Figured out how to change it afterwards. I tried to call em but the machine told me to go to a site and message em. Hopefully they get the message in time and they dont screw up my plan.

how do you do an upgrade for a secondary line? all it shows is new plans

Yes, it is confusing and certainly not intuitive. It's not a simple transaction for us to process.

But, here's how to do it:
To upgrade a non-primary line, just click on the "See All Plans" link under "Customize Your Plan Option" on right of page. Then select add-on-line upgrade and you're on your way.

If you have any questions, I'm here to help.

Thanks,
Wirefly Jeff

Hey, PolishPaul,
PM me your order # and the plan you want, and I'll make sure it's correct.

its really confusing. whats the difference between the shareplan add-on line upgrade and the shareplan unlimited add-on upgrade? they both give me the option to choosing a text message plan but my current family plan is unlimited

Sorry if I added to the confusion. Let me try to clarify:
To upgrade a secondary line:
1. Select "See All Plans" link below "Customize Your Plan Option"

2. In pop-up, you will have 2 choices:
Add-on line upgrade -- Choose this for all non-unlimited plans
Add-on line upgrade unlimited - Choose this if you're existing plan is unlimited

3. Text messaging options: If you have an unlimited talk/text plan you don't need to select a text messaging option, and even if you do, it will be ignored when the order is processed.
If you don't have an unlimited talk/text plan, you need to select a new text messaging option.

Better? ;)

If not, let me know.

Wirefly Jeff,

Why doesn't your site allow me to upgrade? I am the primary line and just finished 12 months on a 2yr contract. I know I can get a new 2yr from VZW, but your site won't let me do it. Also, do you guys charge sales tax? And lastly, how do I get the bing cash...never did that before?

For BingCashback, you'll need to create an account or just tie it to a hotmail address.

Bing Shopping

Once you've created an account, use IE (seeing as it's a MS based program) and go to bing.com. Search "Wirefly" and click the link in the banner at the top indicating "$50 Bing Cashback".

It will forward you to the site, where you will place your order, and should later receive a notice for $50 via Bing Cashback via whichever email address you added to your Bing Cashback account.

I remembered I had an account right after I posted it, so I changed my post. I still can't figure out how to up my contract, so hopefully I can get an answer from Jeff soon, since they post that supplies are limited!

I got mine to work too, but then Wirefly emailed me and told me it was cancelled. Apparently in its corporate greed, VZW won't let 3rd parties sell me a phone becasue I am not eligible for a standard upgrade. I am only eligible for the early upgrade which means I am 12 months into a 2yr contract. To get a phone from Wirefly, Amazon, or Costco, I would need to wait until my NE2 date which is Jan 2011. Guess I'm stuck paying $233 to VZW rather than $129 to Wirefly! (If I wait, I am sure of several things: I would pay $50 less, the phone and accessories will be much cheaper by then, and VZW will have 2-3 newer phones out by then. But I can't wait another 6 months!!!
