Help Just got my X and I need help already...

I found that...I was following the directions, but when it scans for devices, it doesn't find anything. Now my dh keeps saying, "I told you so!" because I bought the Droid and returned it because I couldn't get it to work with it. At least with that one it would pair, it just wouldn't connect. This one I can't even get paired up.

If you want, and if it doesn't bother you mountainlover, you can take your car and phone to your local dealership and they usually do it for free. :)

But that is if you aren't able to do it. :)

Your dealer will know less about your phone than you do. It's possible that your new device is not yet compatible with your car. However your problem sounds like your not able to put your device in discovery mode. So first test that idea by have a headset connect to it.
If that doesn't work than the device may not be working

I followed the directions in "getting started". Yes, I made my device discoverable and I scanned for devices. Nothing! (I never had any trouble with my blackberry working with it.) I have a 2010 VW CC. The salesman said that they have had complaints from some customers saying that it doesn't work with some android phones. I'm beginning to wonder if it's just not going to work. My dh has his old bluetooth headset charging now to see if it works with that. His blackberry picked up my X...

We went back to Verizon to see if they could help. A lady came out to the car and said she had already helped someone else with a CC (not with an X), so she thought she could help us. When she first tried, she was like "Oh, there's your contacts". Problem was, it was my husbands... She had him turn his phone off and then mine paired up. Go figure, something so simple. I guess my car won't work with 2 different types of devices or something. We didn't have any issues having both of our bb's paired with it. I'm just glad it's working.

I was about to suggest just that.

I went and got my DX today(60miles away), went out to the car and tried to pair it. Nothing happened, it found it but wouldn't register the correct name(just numbers) and wouldn't connect.
Remembered that I had my dumbphone in my pocket, and it was paired.. turned off BT on the dumbphone, and then it set up on the DX with no problem at all.

The problem isn't having both paired with it, its just having them both paired at the same time. They should work separately still. Just gonna have to disable one when your driving together probably. Or you could make your husband wait somewhere away from the car every time you get in. :p
