First of all, I wish to thank the cool manager at the Lexington corporate store that let me hang around testing the X. It helped that one of the sales reps is also a geek and had the Inc and now the X :)

Display: There must really be some kind of update, since the display on the demo and sales rep devices do NOT have the text jaggies like the Best Buy unit did or reviews point out. Though the Inc is more vibrant and better contrast, the X is better than the EVO's display and close enough to the Inc that size wins out: X wins!

Interface: Very subjective here: I prefer Sense, but calling a draw, since personal pref. Tie!

Build: Moto spanks my Inc with a wet noodle. X wins, but the one ding is the annoying card behind the battery issue (why in such a big device?).

Sound quality: External speaker, X sounds tinny compared to the Inc and the 3.5mm out also is weaker than the Inc (X sounds just like the Droid): Inc wins!

Touch quality: Both have great response: Tie!

Game potential: Having the same great display response, but bigger display, X takes it. X wins!

Signal reception: Just like when roaming the confines of Best Buy, the X and Inc appear to have the same signal quality, except when X is at -71dBm it shows full bars and when Inc shows -71dBm it shows two bars. Both played the same HQ Youtube vids perfectly. Tie! Both devices were always within 1 or 2 dBm's of each other. Did not matter if -71 or -98 same range of difference (plus or minus 2 dBm).

Call quality: Like the build quality, X spanks Inc. X wins! (Even if we get an update to fix current call issues, the extra mics to cancel noise on X wins).

In summary, either device rocks! One nice thing about the X is it has 7.4gb for app space, so no worries about apps2sd integration- ever. Sure, apps2sd is coming, but not all devs will do it and the X has ten times more app space than the Inc- now. Most will not care, but gamers probably will.

Side note about signal reception. The VZW rep had an Inc and now is using the X and states that both the Inc and X have the same signal reception, based on his experience in fringe areas.

Though I HATE the microsd being stuck behind the battery, I would probably choose the X over the Inc, due to the sweet display and app space. Having 7.4gb of built-in of fast app space is a much better option than dealing with apps2sd.

My one serious reservation is the sound quality from 3.5mm. X sounds weakish like the Droid. I wish Moto put a line out amp in their devices like Nokia did with the N900. Same chipset family, but the N900 sounds very good and also beats the Inc.

So u could tell the difference with the jagged texts? Thats good to hear.

Best Buy unit had jaggies and the VZW demo and sales rep's did not have jaggies. No idea why.

Sure wish the X had better sound quality than the Droid, but seem the same. I am still surprised that the signal strength is the same as the Inc, since I expected the antenna array to yield better results. Sales rep confirmed my perspective on this. Both have good reception, but Inc is weaker sound quality for calls. Hope the Inc issue gets fixed soon.

syntrix,

Are you deciding on which to keep?
