Help Memory managment, apps failing

I had some trouble with the Trip Journal app, which the manufacturer blames on low memory from studying my usage logs. But I am confused, I thought Android memory manged by itself to allocate memory to active applications and take away from sleeping apps.

I downloaded taskiller but people says not to kill tasks, because its counter-productive and besides, I would much rather have the phone take of these things itself. Am I doing something wrong when using the phone or is it poor memory management on the app supplier?

If taskiller doesn't make much of a difference to the app, then your either looking at a badly coded app or a faulty memory chip. If you load a tonne of other apps (but not the Trip Journal), and they all seem to run fine, then it has to be the Trip Journal app, and not faulty memory.

I've used taskkiller for a bit, but tbh, I only use it now when i load a massive app into the memory, and can't close it down (Google maps etc).
