Idk, they just kind of annoy me like they are taking up unnecesary memory and battery since I'm not really using them.
I'm interpreting your name as System Admin NJ, in other words an IT person?
You should know that unused ram is wasted ram.
The phone is powering it all anyway, all the time.
So why wouldn't you want the maximum number of frequently used applications sitting in volatile memory which is orders of magnitude faster than NAND?
I equate this to the nay-sayers who decried Vista and Windows 7 for "being ram hogs" when all they were doing was prefetching your most frequently used data and apps into memory so they loaded faster when you requested them.
for arguements sake:
You have 6gb ram.
the OS/background processes will use ~1gb.
Vista and 7 will aggressively prefetch another 2-4gb of data, so your ram "usage" is sitting at 3-5gb.
However, open say, Adobe Premier Professional and load a 2gb HD video file and the prefetch data is wiped.
Magically, you're still at 3-5gb of memory in use. See what happened?
Repeat after me, unused ram is wasted ram.
