If i flash a new rom to my phone (rom 1), make a nandroid backup of it, and then flash another rom (rom 2) and nandroid that, can i still restore to rom 1 via nandroid even if i no longer have the zip file that i used to flash rom 1 initially?

Yes, you can choose which nandroid file you want to restore. So you flash ROM 2, make a nandroid for it, but don't like it. All you need to do is reboot to RA and choose to restore a nandroid file. Then choose the backup you made for ROM 1 and restore. You just need your nandroid files, not the ROM zip file.

BTW, before you flash ROM 1 you should make a nandroid backup of your current ROM just in case something goes wrong.

Yeah, but do you back yours up to NASA so they can in turn upload them to satellites and the ISS for safe keeping? They also gave me a secret decoder ring.
