Help Remove your Task Killer apps!

I copied all of my apps from my incredible including my taskiller. After seeing a couple threads saying that speed increased without it I turned it off. It is definately speedier. Just wanted to repost this for the people that didn't read the posts, it wasn't the main topic of the thread.

I started a main post about this but it got buried, hopefully people will give it a try because it actually works.

this has been said a billion times on this forum... well maybe over and over and over and over and over across all the different droid models and more.

I think I've said it at least 20 times.... well 21 now :D

Actually we both have the X now lol

I guess i just don't understand WHY it hurts your battery so badly when i've always heard it helps

If you kill a process, it's gone.

Let's say that the os has 10 processes that query the now gone process. It's like running up stairs, but there's a stair missing. You are going to get hurt, which is going to slow you down, and require a lot more effort to get where you are going.

Are you positive that a TaskKiller bogs resources down? I'm coming from a Storm and if there's one thing I learned early on, was that I needed to make sure to manually end apps running in the background to free up memory and resources...so I'm in the habit of making sure I'm not running too many apps at one time.

They installed Advanced Task Killer at the store without even asking me. I thought it would be ok. But after using it to "kill" selected apps, the phone would hang on a blank screen for about 5 seconds. I could see the bottom three launcher buttons, but nothing would respond. I uninstalled it after that.

Ok, not sure if anyone cares or not but we just got back from our trip.

I worked all day Saturday, using my phone a couple of times to text my gf. Nothing more than that. When I left work (8 hours later) my phone was at 70%. I thought that was a little crazy. By the time I used it for the rest of the night (not much since I drove 2 hours down south and pretty much started drinking with friends when we got to our destination), my phone was at 30%. I called one friend otherwise it sat upstairs on a side table.

My gf didn't charge hers at all that night and this morning she still had 60%. And she used her phone a lot more than I did mine. She even ran podcasts as we drove in the car.

I put task killer back onto my phone this morning after a full charge and have used it today for the market, downloading ringtones, texting, youtube, browser, etc...and it STILL is reading 90%. Now that's what I was looking for!!!

Not sure if it has anything to do with task killer or not but that's the comparison I am seeing between hers and mine...if it helps anyone
