EVO Messanger lag issues?

I had my EVO only 2 weeks and began to have issue with my text messanger. I began to have a 5 second LAG when i opened up a contact. then after I typed in a message and sent it it would take up to 10 seconds to send. I called Sprint and after about 40 minutes recommended to take it in to my local sprint Store. They rebooted it and it now works fine. Has anyone else experienced this? The sprint peps said they had never encountered anthing like it before and might of have something like an "APP clash" with my EVO. Just passing on the 411.

Weird. I've had messages take longer than usual to send once or twice, but I figured it was just the network being a little messed up.

a few weeks back i had to take into my local sprint store. they did a reboot, it worked fine until2 days ago. It starts with a 2-3 second delay after i text before it finally sends the text. last time it started with this 2-3 delay then eventually it got worse. Hope this isnt the case again. I dont want to do a reboot every few weeks.

Reboot... You mean turn your phone off and on? That is a big deal?

I use Handcent. I never have any problems with lag or anything else. It is THE BEST program for text messages by far. It is also free in the market. I highly recommend it to anyone using an Android device.

That used to happen to me a lot but I figured it was because I had thousands of texts in each individual thread and hadnt deleted them. I finally just got rid of all my texts and limited the program to only allow 300 messages per thread and haven't had an issue since :]

no. they did a hard reset

How many messages are you storing at one time? Remember multiple 200 thread messages will totally slow the bugger down. Try keeping your delete total at around 100-150...
