Why is it that no one is talking about the amazing amount of app storage

The vibrant has 2gb dedicated to apps. This is amazing considering that my nexus has nowhere near that am out of storage. My g1, mytouch, or behold 2 didn't even come close. Even with froyo on my nexus and being able to save apps to the sd card, I find that developers aren't making that migration as quickly as we would like. Having dedicated storage for apps is a huge plus for the galaxy s line. Other handset makers should follow suit. I am seriously considering this device because of this feature. Of course that is not the only feature that makes this phone a great choice, but I think it's a major step in the right direction. Sound off! :D

You know, I have added so many apps to my phone it is crazy! I was thinking I must be about full and it turns out I am only about half way! Speaking of storage, if you run out of app storage does it start storing them in the other 16gb??

What other 16GB storage? Vibrant comes with 16GB buildin memory and 2GB memory card. If you mean that you replacer the 2GB microSD with a 16GB card then the answer is NO.

Vibrant runs Android 2.1 and it does not support applications on SD card. Only in build in Memory. Android 2.2 will add this feuture to your device when its available.

I do believe she? is asking if once the dedicated 2gb of space is filled up if we will be able to make use of the rest of the built in 16gb's memory(non sd memory)

Of course once 2.2 arrives we should be able to make use of all space sd and non sd.

You are so right! Every phone I have had, I have to watch my app storage space, and with this phone I don't worry so much. I would gladly choose app storage space over a blinking message light.:)

Yes, that is what I was asking.
I thought the 16GB WAS for app storage? So I am confused :) Someone straighten me out?

It seems to me since using it for a couple of days that 2 gb of the 16 gb are for app storage, and the remaining 14 gb of storage that is pre-installed in the Vibrant is used for all of the downloaded wallpaper, music, etc. I cannot even figure out how to use the remaining 400 mb on the sd card that has Avatar on it.
