Can sombody tell me where to get this keyboard downloaded from thats ligit? I tried the mirror site shown in another post but my computer warned me it was not safe.

Also, I have pda.net on my evo but it's not working to share my wi fi connection with either laptop. Is there another choice for sharing the wi fi that does not require downloading anything to my laptop?

PDANet only shares your connection through Bluetooth and USB....The Wifi Tether app is on Adroid Market for free to use and download but you need to be rooted to use...If you are not rooted your only option is to use the Sprint Hotspot app that is built into the phone which would cost you 29.99 a month to use

Heres a link to the Droid X Keyboard and its Legit and safe because i have used it for myself http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8BWYGDTQ

I understand, my one laptop does not have bluetooth and the usb connection doens't work with pda net since i can't download it. The bluetooth connection doens't share it's data connection with my mac for some reason.

i saw one app on the market i saw a comment that it wasn't safe made me nervous. thanks for the link.

Yeah that "app" on market turned out to be a ploy to get your email address.....That link has the raw apk for installation.....

And im not sure about it working on MAC because i use PC but the Bluetooth/USB Limitations are the same

Download the file to your Computer. Connect your phone to your computer as a disk drive..Drag and drop the file onto ur SD card. Then use any free file explorer thats is on Market to locate the apk you dragged to ur sd card. Use the File Explorer to Select the file..It will then install...After it installs Go to Setting->Language & Keyboard and Check the box that says Multi-touch Keyboard

Then open up a text message and Press and hold the Compose Box until it says Input method, Select Input Method then Select your desired keyboard

I feel very dumb, but I'm lost, I got the file to the phone, got the file share app clicked on it, found the apk and then it says complete action using and asks for another app. WTF?

Something isnt right those shouldnt be one of the choices.....wut file manager did you get off market

Im using Linda File manager and if you didnt put multiple launchers on ur phone...After you click the apk it should just install...You dont have to be rooted to do this

i installed the keyboard from beast's link. one problem, haptic feedback stopped working for the keyboard buttons, still works for the touch buttons below the screen though so i guess i can manage. any ideas how i can get it to vibrate on keypress? (its already turned on in the settings for the multitouch keyboard)

Well that was a total letdown. Not only do I not see any benefit from the supposed multitouch, but the autocomplete/autocorrection is god awful. I have to actually select the correct word every time to correct something, and it doesn't even recognize words if you accidentally press a key too many times, etc. The default HTC keyboard is much faster for that reason, the correction is automatic on spacebar, and is almost always right.

Ok. So I went back through everything and it worked this time. I don't know what happend last night maybe I was just tired or to aggravated by other stuff I was working on. In any event I appreciate your help. Now all I gotta do is figure out a way to share the data connection without 30 bucks a month.

I think it's a bad idea for me to root the phone. Mostly because I don't understand what that really means. And doesn't that cause problems when they push updates out?

It makes me made the most advanced phone in the world isn't working like it should without crazy fees.
