Motorola Droid X VS HTC Droid Incredible: Camera Test

So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button. :)

My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

So, Enjoy!

PS: If you have any suggestions of pictures I should post, please reply as well.

NOTE: Inc would NOT focus any closer without being extremely blurry, tried a gazillion times.

It would be interesting to compare the Incredible and the X once the Incredible gets this mysterious OTA update. The panoramic picture looks pretty cool, wish the Incredible could do that.

I totally agree. I bet the OTA update would kick some behind.

I do love the Panoramic settings, and all the picture settings on the X. It is an added boost.

Thanks for the pics, pretty close but from this batch I'd give the nod to the X.
I'm not "into" cam settings , so I don't know if one is really better with manual cam settings.
Miss the pan cam pics, had it on my Dare.
Very big backyard .

*Bet if you hung a porkchop around your neck and went out back at night you could get some good coyote pics. :D

Yeah, I just tried to keep it as simple as possible to be true to everyones real use of the camera.

The X camera was at its stock 6 MP widescreen and the INC was at its stock 8MP so I was kinda suprised.

**I have a coyote as an alarm clock, wild dogs, and a quail family of +200 that live in my backyard... as well as half foot beetles, tarantula hawks, tarantulas etc. It's kinda scary lol. Theres also a rooster? OH AND MINI HORSES!

Wow thanks for the comparison! This definitely confirmed my thoughts on the Inc's camera so far. The pics look great on the phone, but as soon as you view them on a bigger non-amoled screen they look...funny. The X definitely takes great pictures. Luckily, I don't take a lot of pictures but for someone that does I would definitely say the X is the way to go. Out of the box anyways.

Hopefully one night I can snag a few pictures. I was trying to get some JackRabbits today to compare, or my cat. But they were all being jerks. So the flowers its was. :p

Wild pigs too.. they're pretty scary looking. With the perfection of that camera I'd be scary to see what it would spit out at me. Lol.

wildlife such as that would be cool, but what about people;), that is what i take pics of most often (even though daughter gets mad at me and all the pics i take of her she is giving me a mean face:mad:). All the pics i take of people come out awesome, of course the only thing i have to compare to is my 2 year old omnia 5 mp

This one was taken from the edge of the beach, near the road. So not close at all.

I'm confused, this test is horrible. The only way to truly test is 2 exact pictures, not pictures of an object from different distances. (you can tap to focus on objects you know?)

If my Dinc pics looked like the ones you took, I would take it back. Mine look insanely better than your examples. The only thing that I agree is the flash is rather odd on the dinc.
