New to this forum, kinda - just got my Incredible (from Amazon, took 5 days) - still have my Eris which was rooted and mildly over clocked and didn't really have the issues some folks had and I like it but...

Wow this phone is so much faster. I like faster :) Went with the bigger battery (2100) and even tried the case mod on a cheap silicon case - it's still not really any thicker than the old Eris... will report on battery life... rooted so I could use setcpu to slow it down when sleeping.

So far, so good.. why does Verizon put on silly (worthless to me) programs like CitiId and not let you remove them.. grr (yeah might with root maybe)

That's all, just a happy post for a Sunday am

glad to see you are enjoying the phone. I'm no expert here, and i've had the phone for less than a week and I'm just completely blown away by it's speed. I too came from an Eris and it's like night and day. Very impressed with the device so far. No "wonky" issues to report on yet. Works as advertised. Looking forward to the OTA update.

My phone was really really fast the first day I got it. But then I added a bunch of apps to it and have had thousands of texts and hundreds of emails and it has slowed down over time. Although I don't recommend doing it unless you know what you're doing, I rooted and overclocked my phone, now it is very fast no matter what. It's one of the best things for the phone in my opinion.

I'm to scared to try and root my phone. Had it a week and love it. Occasional camera freezing but that's it (and battery of course). Reading some of the issues others have scares me a bit but I am anti-moto heh.

Do you have to root it to remove those preloaded horrors? I really wish they would stop starting themselves when I set them not to.

Yeah that's why I suggested not to do it unless you're familiar with it.

The only way I was able to remove CityID was through root. That's the only available way right now to do so.

Did root it - no self control :) but using setCpu only to underclock it when sleeping..

From my eris days I have call log trimmer (don't really call that much) and Delete Old Messages for keeping the texting from going crazy.

Maybe if it gets slower, I'll play with pushing up clock speed but with the 2100 battery I'm 1.5 days from last charge and 50% still on the battery... Eris couldn't do that...
