I know there are threads about similar issues. However, I stayed up refreshing my VZW page from 12am July 15th till 2AM July 15th when the Droid X finally appeared on the site. I placed my order at 2:40am July 15th, got my confirmation email and STILL HAVE NO TRACKING!!!!!!! I called and the DipSh%t said my order was placed too late and that they were sold before that? Total moron thing to say as people who place orders after me already received their phone. Then she said the order wasn't processed til 6pm on the 15th and they were sold out by then...yet another lie. I sold my other Droid on Ebay already and need to send it out and do not have my new phone yet. VZW really F'd me bigtime. Just called and the D.B said theres still no tracking and it will hopefully be shipped by 7/23 but no guarantee. I am a little upset to say the least. :mad:Anyone else have a similar horrible experience

Oh, heck! I can easily top that story!

I call about 11 am release day, and they make me an appointment for 7:30 pm even though it's busy aunch day. They tell me they have tons in stock, and it won't be an issue.

At 2pm, they call me back, telling me that another store just came by and took half their stock because they have more appointments, and odds are, they will not have them in stock at all when we come for our OWN appointment! They will NOT let me just come in and get them, since I already have an apointment! Now I'm really ticked.

Anyway, I call about 4pm, to ask them if they still have them.. no sense going in if they are sold out, right?

The guy there tells me No Problem! They'll be shipped overnight for free, and you'll have them by noon, the next day, Friday! Cool. I can deal with a one day delay.

So we go in and when we buy them, he tells us because its now so late, they won't actually be shipped till Friday, and since its the weekend, we won't get them till Monday! We are of course shocked AND pissed, since he did not mention this till AFTER we paid, but we look at each other, and just suck it up.

He tells us to call Verizon to get the tracking numbers when we get home, (and we should have questioned why he couldn't just give it to us then.)

Punchline Time: When we get home (about 7 minutes later) we call to ask about the tracking numbers.. and the gal on the phone says they are back ordered now, and probably won't ship till the 23rd to 25th!

So we're fuming.. I google some, and see reports that Sam's Club apparantly got them in, and wasn't swamped like the official stores.

So I call friday, and they tell me they are due in around noonish Fed Ex, and none are spoken for!

So I head over there, and wait till 1:30 pm.. still no friggin fed Ex delivery! I get tires for my van, and after thats done, they STILL have not gotten the delivery. But so long as I order them before 3pm, they'll arrive Monday, so we place the second order, and cancel the original order.

Saturday I get 3 emails:

1, the original order has already been shipped, and is about 2 hours away already!
2, The original order has shipped (different tracking number), but no tracking info yet.
3, The second order has NOT shipped, and they need to reconfirm information. Sop the guarenteed order that was from Sam's club will not arrive till Tuesday or weds now!

I call Verizon, and they say muliple phones to one home are ALWAYS shipped together, and the weight of the box appears to confirm that. So we MAY have TWO sets of droid x phones due to arrive now on Monday, from the original order!

So we cancle the Sam's club order (Even though they are actually $20 each CHEAPER then from verizon! ($179 each, with new every two $50 credit on the main account phone.)

I think we've spent now about 5-6 hours tryong to get these damned things, that supposedly would not be selling out like the Incredible fiasco.

These will be our first smart phones (Upgrading from two ENV2 phones) so we are needless to say, very excited!

I'm also still waiting. I too purchased in the wee morning of 7/15. Thinking back, maybe I should have just gone to sleep and purchased it at a more decent time in the morning.

Was hoping to have my phone with me on my flight tomorrow. Too bad.

With the purchase of the X, I'm now back on contract. And I'm a long time vzw customer too, from back in the days when you were charged by the minute. Maybe I should start checking out other companies and see what the competition has to offer...

I wouldn't have minded if they would have just let me come in and buy the phones at 10am, made me an earlier apointment, NOT shipped the phones the DID have to another store, or had not lied to me several times about delievery dates.

This has been the worse phone upgrade experience we've ever seen here.

Funny thing is, it LOOKS like we actually have TWO shipements of TWO phones coming tomorrow now, from the same 1st order, and only one charge for only two of them.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Yeah, I learned my lesson the hard way. Thought staying up and ordering the morning of launch would guarantee me one. Only problem doing in store is having to deal with the rebate mail in etc... All stores around me that I have checked are sold out too

Check Walmart...I got mine there..Best Buy and Verizon were sold out I went to Walmart on a hunch and luckily they got a shipment of just ONE in and I got it..I went back to Verizon to get accesories and they asked where I got it I said Walmart and they were in shock that Walmart sold them..Then I went to best buy to get it armored and told them I got it at Walmart they were also in shock..SO basically a lot of people do not know Walmart sold it or is selling it so check that out..They got a shipment of only ONE in and I got it and that was at like Noon so that means noone else went there before then...worth a shot.

I logged onto the Verizon site about 7:00am Central Time on July 15th and easily ordered an X. This was a new account since I'd been with AT&T before.

I received an email confirmation of the sale at 7:04am and a shipment notification email with tracking number at 2:41pm.

I then received the X at 12:26pm the next day, July 16th.

It's very strange that others had such trouble ordering online.

Isn't walmart seeling it for more though? Online it looks like about $250 I think.

V stores have it for $199, and Sam's club has them for $179.

Surprisingly, I went by my Walmart here in CA, and the two year contract was $150, and the retail was $530. No joke, but they only received two, which they sold on release date.

If you go on their website now, its listed at $150 for the 2 year contract.

There definitely was a phone order glitch that happened during the early morning hours. A colleague ordered his at 4:30 am and I ordered mine at 7:00am. I got the confirmation, tracking information and received device on the 16th. He is still waiting.

These things happen. Do we really need instant gratification that badly so this is an issue? How ever did you survive all these years just waiting for July 15, 2010 to come? At birth, you knew 07/15/10 was the day! I admire your ability to survive this long waiting for this day to come!

I'll send you mine if you're **REALLY** that unhappy.....

Minus my account being new, I have a similar story to you. Ordered at 7:54am EST on 7/15, had tracking number by 3:14pm EST. (I wasn't in a rush so I did free shipping. My X is currently sitting at the sort facility waiting to be delivered tomorrow)

I wonder if it's a matter of which warehouse you order was routed to?

My order got stuck in their "glitch", and I am less upset about not having the phone than I am in the way I have been treated by their customer service. Combined, my wife and I have been with them for 18 years. Just last month we upgraded her line to a smart phone so now we're paying them even more money. I have had a smart phone plan since I got my Storm 1.

They have been unwilling to do anything for me. They won't move my upgrade date up (not even by 2 weeks!), give me free overnight shipping to make up for the inconvenience, won't give me a discount, nothing. All I get when I call is a bunch of "I'm sorry" and some misinformation. Every person that I talk to has a different story, and no one has been willing to help me out at all.

The heart breaker for me is that I have enjoyed dealing with Verizon in the past. They have always been super friendly and helpful and I considered them one of the "good" companies that I would always be happy to give my money too. My disappointment has more to do with the fact that I feel I have been let down big time.

All Droid X orders are being shipped overnight. Sorry you have gotten bad info. CMO can upgrade you within 30 days.

What it boils down to is this: are you dealing with a real verizon wireless employee or an outsourcer? How to tell the difference? I'd tell you, but.... :)

I had an awesome experience where I ordered a dx through telesales early on the 15th but the fedex guy decided to leave it at a local vzw store the next day instead of delivering it to the actual shipping address? Triple checked that. No way it was to go to that store. So, I see on the fedex site it was delivered, but not to me, so I give it a few hours. I evenutally call fedex and they give me a street address it was 'accidentally' delivered to and wow, its the local vzw corp store.

I call them up, and I tell him the story (at this point you know its confusing these people) and I give him the name of the person who signed for it who he acknowledges works there and I ask him to check for it, and he says no it MUST be here if someone signed for it. So, whatever, I go there.

Its a cluster ****. Theres like 3 idiots working and 15 people there. I wait in a line only to get referred to some ******ed sign in kiosk. I try to tell the guy I just need my package. Literally there is a package from fedex with my name on it. I dont need your help. Just give me my package. Of course I gotta 'sign in' to get it. I sign in and my name goes up on this big lcd with a list of folks waiting in line. Everyone goes on break at the same time and I spend over an hour waiting for my package. Gotta love middle aged women who ABSOLUTELY NEED TO HAVE THIER TEXTS TRANSFERED FROM ONE RAZR TO ANOTHER? I finally get called and the dude is like NOPE its not here, were sold out. Welcome to hell. So i'm trying to explain the story to this guy and hes clearly lost and I was already calming myself down knowing that I was going to get a free droid x out of all of this. I convince him to check again and he FINALLY finds it and I get out of there with my package - not before the guy tries to sell me some overpriced vzw accessories. close to 2 hours wasted. lolz.
