Ok, here's my whole story:
Got the DInc on launch day, have loved it, but there are some things that I have been dealing with since shortly after I got the phone, and frankly, its just getting on my nerves now.
1) It freezes at least once a day. Not really that BIG of a problem because the reboot time is so quick, but annoying nonetheless.
2) I have to shake the phone to get it to switch to portrait/landscape mode. Not anything ridiculous, just a couple light shakes.
3) The camera freezes often.
4) The glass lens on the camera is actually crooked. One side of the lens is deeper down than the other, creating a lip on one side. This is really just cosmetics, as I'm not sure it actually affects the performance of the camera, but I know it's not suppose to be like that.
5) After a while, it stops reading my SD card, saying that I don't have one in. I have to pull the battery to get it to read again, and even then it will only do so for about a day, before the same problem pops up.
6) Last but not least, to add insult to injury after all the others listed here, the "T" in my "HTC" logo on the back of the phone actually fell out. I know, this has nothing to do with the actual performance of the phone, but it's annoying that the phone fell apart like I DIDN'T pay $200 for it.
So I say that to ask this... Is the DInc still backordered? I still like this phone despite everything I listed above, and usually I would just call Verizon to get a replacement, but I assumed they will not be able to send me one if they can't even get them to new customers. Sooo... I've been looking very hard at the Droid X. I love the big screen, and basically what it looks like to me is a Droid Incredible on HGH. So if I call Verizon, and they tell me the DInc is backordered and they can't send me a replacement right now, what are the chances I can get them to send me a Droid X for small fee, or even possibly, for free?
*Sorry for the novel.
**Note: I HAVE dropped this phone ONCE, and it was on carpet, from about 3 feet, so I don't think that is the reason for all this.
