Unresponive at times

Anyone have issues where the touch screen and the buttons become unresponsive for a period for short bursts. I think my phone has had it. I tried restoring it to see if certain apps maybe causing it but that is not the issue. Restored still same problem. it happens about every 5 minutes.

Are you rooted? If not then your phone should be taken into verizon. If it is rooted there are touch screen patches out there that may help you

No it is not rooted. Leak v3. It also Forces close on sence and market. I am slightly worried about returning it though. The water sticker by the battery it slightly red. never got it wet though.

The water sticker should still be checkered. Slight is okay because theres moisture in your pocket blah blah blah.

Root. Simple as that. The eris with sense is just slow. So either live with that or get a senseless rom.

I suspect you've got a problem app on your phone. If you take the phone into the store I'd guess the first they are going to ask you is if you've done a factory reset - if you haven't you might as well go ahead and do one. Then don't add any apps for a couple days to see that solves your problem. Before you do a factory reset make sure all your contacts are backed up to Google.

What touch screen patches? I have the same issue, and I'm rooted.

I did factory reset. Did you not read that? Still have problems. The other day all the pages would scroll to the bottom with out me touching. Woke up this morning and the phone works fine. This pisses me off because i don't know how I can prove a common problem to get a new phone if it isn't doing it anymore.

I think he's is referring to patches for specific ROMs; for example the White Widow 4.6 ROM has a patch if your touchpad stops responding after flashing. You may want to check where you downloaded the ROM from and read if there is a patch for this.

Try this:

Remove HTC Antimated Weather Clock and use Launcher Pro instead of Sense. If that does not solve it, it could be a track ball issue. Then you should have it replaced.

If you are on the v3 2.1 leak you will get the OTA update from Verizon. It makes the Eris much better and responsive.

Rooting and overclocking it makes it faster still.

I recently tried the "What's Today Calendar" and "Turtle Photoframe" widgets. I don't know which one was the culprit, but my phone was so slow that I couldn't use the dialer (unless I wanted to wait about 30 seconds!). I also was unable to enter text in boxes in Market, email, and other apps. I uninstalled these two apps, powered off and on, and haven't had any troubles since. Coincidence? I don't think so.

EDIT: In fairness to "Turtle Photoframe" (which is pretty cool), I think that "What's Today Calendar" was the culprit. I am giving the turtle another shot, and have had no problems yet.
