Droid X reviews not going so well?

I am not trying to piss people off so please dont get mad at me for these reviews, I didn't write them. It is frustrating to me to see such bad reviews after I spent money on this phone..Makes me think twice if I should just go back to my Incredible..I do like the Screen, the keyboard, stock texting, camera but I do notice some of the lag they talk about and I do miss some of the HTC widgets.

well if you are that worried about what someone else says then you will never keep a phone. There are always going to be people that say whatever phone you have sucks but to me i only care what i think about it. I mean they are pushing out an ota already and im sure they can fix the lock screen lag

2/3 of those are reviews from known Apple fanboys lol. If you like the phone, keep it, and if you like the Incredible more then go exchange it for that. I've gotta say this is a very snappy phone, and it's only lagged rarely, but all of those issues should go away with the upcoming Froyo update. You're gonna have to live with the lack of HTC widgets though haha.

Not to sound rude, but why do you care what a reviewer at the Miami Herald has to say about your phone?

Do YOU like it? That's all that matters.

If your opinion to use a product, after you have it, is swayed by what a reviewer says, than you should not be using a smart-phone. It's a matter of different strokes, for different folks.

If you like the phone, than keep it, if you don't, go back to the Incredible.

Most reviews are based on a stock Droid X that doesn't even come close to showing off its capabilities. That being said, I found a large number of flaws with the stock X, however the apps for customization etc are really good.

Ya I guess I just look at it as if they are Devs or know Tech analysts they should no if they are good or bad devices so it makes me nervous that they are bashing it so early..I do like it and enjoy it but don't want something that may be a piece of junk in a few months and brick itself or something.

I think we all need to realize something.
For Droid X to be considered great, in other words better than ip4, it must be significantly better as it is always difficult for people to abandon the status quo and move on.
I do not think those articles are biased but simply reflects what people, in general, think. Take it positively and improve.

I don't see anything wrong with choosing either of these phones. i wanted a big screen and a phone body that used metal, so I went with the X. If i hadn't heard the X was coming out, I probably would've went with the Inc. You're the one who knows what you want. if you believe there's more potential in staying with the inc than the x, then return to the inc. I'll tell you this much though, you're going to feel remorse either way. So you should choose to start working through the remorse while using the X, or using the Incredible.

Be careful when you read anything on Gizmodo or Engadget. They are extremely biased towards Apple-- you have to take any of their reviews with a grain of salt. I personally like to browse the sites to keep up with tech news, but I would never trust their reviews. The majority of other reviews I have read are very positive or at lease neutral. If you like the X, why does it matter what they say?

this IS the best phone i`ve had (former winmo guy, went to the eris then to the inc now the x). i HONESTLY feel that i can have this one for a while and be ok. i know when something new comes i`ll want it but...if this didnt sell on ebay after something new comes...i`ll be Ay ok!

Man I played with the X for about 5 minutes at Verizon and I was sold. No phone is ever gonna be perfect and Moto already got a update and the phone aint been out a week. That shows me that Verizon and Moto are really serious about making this phone the best it could be. Plus theres Launcher Pro, Beautiful wigets and other apps to personalize your X any way you like. Cant base ur decision on reviews from people who only play with the phone and really dont use it. The only thing I reget is I didnt order it sooner cause im still waiting on it.

I don't think engadget is necessarily biased. They give a lot of attention to apple, but that's because they have many apple-fanboy readers. The Droid-X preview was a very positive article. The review was not quite as good.

Paul Miller uses a droid X for his personal phone.

I don't know about Gizmodo, as the site is too dizzy and busy for me. However, I never thought Engadget was biased. It does not become biased just because it gives a negative reviews about Droid X. Half of Engadget's articles deal with Iphone4's issues, does that make it biased? maybe but against Iphone 4.

Really? I thought Engadget was more biased than Gizmodo, judging by the volume of articles related to Apple. I say that not so much because of negative reviews, but because their amount of coverage of everything Apple is overwhelming. It could just be overkill on the iPhone because its a new release, but sometimes I feel like I'm reading Apple Insider or something. I don't really care that they give the X bad reviews. I see them give plenty of good reviews to non-Apple products.

Its kinda funny that Engadget was first to have a working X even b4 Moto anounced the X and gave out the pre released models. They had a detailed review on everything about the X and 95% of the review was positive and that was a pre preduction model. Now they giving it a kinda bad one. HHHMMMMM... makes me think what changed so much I would think a finshed X would be better? Kinda bias to me.

BINGO. This is the best phone I have every used, I could care less if everyone else hates it

Keep in mind that the reviews are targeted towards consumers and not necessarily phone geeks. I don't think Android in general is as "fit for mass consumption" as some other phone OS's are. It's certainly not easier to use and it is definitely not as stable as iOS or even Palm's WebOS but for someone who's willing to dig around and maybe do a reboot once in a while it's a cool device that I personally am really enjoying.

Not everyone is gonna love the Droid X, especially if they are used to an iPhone. It's definitely a different experience. For me, I like it better because of the ginormous screen and voice input on text fields. Plus I was just kinda getting bored with the iPhone and needed a change.

The MMS issue is a bug with Android, not Blur. Same thing happens on Sense, too.

The Miami Herald review was awful. The Gizmodo review was biased, and to be honest, the Engadget review was balanced.

I still maintain, if you are that easily swayed by what others say about a smart phone, you should just go back to using a flip phone. The X works for me. It's not perfect; I would love to root it and load CyanogenMod onto it, but that's not going to happen for a while.

Just my two cents.

Launcher Pro + Beautiful Widgets made me like the phone 100x more. These types of apps can't be installed or used on an iPhone. The reviewers don't take into consideration things like this.

Wait, what do you man Android is not as stable as Web OS? Are you kidding me?

I came to Verizon/Android from a Sprint Palm Pre. The device was laggy, and the software was full of bugs. The market was terrible. I could keep going. The ONLY thing I liked was the notification system, and even that got to be a pain.

If Google came up with hardware standards that were more stringent, and set strict user interface guidelines (NOT the development guidelines they have for app devs), then they would really have a winner.

But, you're wrong when you say it's not a success with consumers. There have been millions of Android devices sold in the past two years, and Verizon has managed to get some serious market penetration with its Droid line.
