I am looking for an app that will track my gambling. Something like Poker Journal for the iPhone for poker. It would be cool to have another tab to track sports bets placed (including bet, odds, over under, spread, etc), and another tab for other types of games simply to track game, location, amount of buy in and cash out, and time played.

This is an app I would be willing to pay $10-15 for a decent one, or $20 for a great one. As a professional gambler I know a lot of other people that would also love an app like this.

Please let me know if you are willing to create an app and would like more specific ideas of what I am looking for.

For sports when I place a bet I would like to be able to record the game, wager, odds, over under, and spread. Also a way to track parlay bets. I am thinking NFL football but it would be good to integrate other sports to help sales of the app

For other casino games I would want to track location, game, stakes, time played, buy in, cash out

Poker would be the most specific portion, I look at the other areas as a bonus that would set the app above anything available on iPhone or android. I would want a timer for live games, location, stakes, buy in, cash out, type of poker (hold em, Omaha 8, limit, no limit, cash, tournament, etc).

To put everything together to track overall wins and losses, and be able to isolate by categories: day of the week, location, type of game, etc. And to be able to create graphs from this information. Then just be able to back up information automatically.

I would love to help beta test an app like this and then pay for it when it is finished.

I have a poker/gambling app. It doesn't do the sports-betting specifics that you want, but it will do poker and buyin/cashout for pit games. If you send me a PM about the sports betting I'll look into adding that -- I don't do any sports betting, so I'm not sure if you just want to input the values, or have anything calculated (winnings / is there a commission paid?)

It's called "poker log"

I am looking for a lot more to track, and a lot more convience.

1. I want drop down menus that I can set with my locations instead of typing the location everytime, same with stakes, game type, etc.

2. I want to track live games separately from tounaments and track poker separately from other games and sports betting

3. I want to be able to filter my results by day of the week, type of game, limits, etc. I would like to be able to graph the results to analyze my play to see if certain days of the week are better at certain locations, etc

The poker portion is the most important to me so this app is not going to work unless you add a lot of features. It looks like an ok app just to track on overall win/lose record for a trip to vegas but not what I am looking for as a professional poker player who also enjoys other gambling.

Okay, I have a little bit of the layout done (I'll send you a PM once my computer's Internet connection is back up). To be honest, though, I have no clue how poker betting works, so I'm kind of unsure about how to program it. If you could give me a brief overview, or just give me a link to a website that does the same, that'd be great. I have no clue how sports betting works, either, but I'm working on poker first.

I don't want to track the actual betting, just overall results.

To enter a session there needs to be editable dropdown menus for:

1. Location
2. Game type (cash or tournament)
3. Game (No limit Hold 'em, Limit Hold 'em, PL Omaha, etc)
4. Stakes (2-8 spread, 3/6 limit, 3/5 NL, etc)
5. Start time and stop time, including day/date
6. Buy in and cash out

Then be able to isolate by any of these categories to analyze results = easy to see if certain locations, stakes, day of the week, etc are more profitable

Basically all of this is what poker journal for iOS does

For sports betting it is more simple.

1. Game (would be nice if it could pull scheduled games for a given date from the web)
2. Wager
3. Point spread / betting line
4. Then a way to enter results to track overall win/loss amount

Would stakes be something that are just listed by the program, or would it be something that would be used in calculations in the program?

Would you want a timer for live games, or would that just be something that you could input manually?

Just listed by the program as a way to sort the results to see if certain stakes are more profitable per hour than others.

A timer would be nice as long as it ran in the background and didn't kill the battery but it is not necessary

I have the layout of what it will look like (initially) when you enter a new game. I've been trying to work out how to use the Droid's database system (or some kind of database system) to save the information, plus working on about a half-dozen other apps. XP I could give you a basic copy within the next week or so, but you would have to leave it running constantly on your phone if you didn't want to lose your data. Sorry it's taking so long.

I'm sure if you gave poker log a try you'd like it.

I gave it a try when you posted it earlier in this thread. I also posted my thoughts on it after trying it. It is far too simple for someone who is a professional poker player that wants to use their phone to track sessions. It would work for an average person taking a weekend trip to vegas to track overall wins/losses that is about it, no where close to what I am looking for.

I don't want to argue with you about this, but I feel bad for cmh0114. Have you tried it lately? I'll go through your list here:

1. Instead of drop down menus it will auto complete the name for you after you type the first letter of the casino, stakes, game, etc.

2. There are separate categories for cash / tournament / casino / other

3. It will show you hourly rate, standard deviation, max win/loss, longest session sorted by day of week, type of game, location, sorted by cash/tournament/casino/other. It will graph your results, which can be sorted by cash/tournament/casino/other, or any combination of the four categories.

I'm not sure what is missing from your list.

Maybe I will give it another shot next weekend when I go to work again.

I really am looking for something like Poker Journal on iOS. Here is a link:
App Shopper: Poker Journal (Utilities)

I bought it a couple years ago for $14.99 when I had my iPhone and it was perfect. Also they layout was great. I am going to buy an iPod touch or iPad in a couple months just for this app if I can not find one as good as poker journal soon.

I am very picky about this app because it helps me analyze my play to determine my most profitable times to work.
