hi just got my htc replace as droped the last one anyway now i have no contacts on my sim they have somehow got onto the fone i noticed this as i was trying to put one of my pictures onto a contact number and it said i had no contacts but i managed to do this with my last htc desire

I suggest full stops and commas as a solution.

Why do you want the contacts on the sim card? It's much more versatile having them on the phone.

well im trying to add a picture to some contacts,and when i do this there is no contacts there but i do have them on my fone

You can't add pictures to your contacts if they are on the sim card.

Either the phone or better still the sd card as that will leave more internal memory free

How do you save your contacts to the SD card and can you do this by deleting from the fone at the same time? are there any issues with accessing the contacts once on the SD card?

click the phone button, then press menu.
select people, press menu button again then press import/export & you will see the options there.
You will have to delete the contacts separately i think you will find
